  1. Cora? A great? Are you serious?
  2. Bad loss last night, Papelbon had no location and no zip on his pitches. Every pitcher has nights like that. Papelbon will come out next time firing, I promise that.
  3. Dear God people keep your argument in other threads. Allthough I kind of enjoy reading 3 pages on TedWilliams trying to justify his huge drug addiction. As for tonights game, score often and early boys, and hope that Schilling goes 7 or 8 tonight and we can win 7-2 or something like that.
  4. SF has a defense and a O-line. They also have a developing quarterback, and should really be quite good.
  5. Steinbrenner: I believe in Joe Torre, per ESPNEWS.
  6. The only problem with your stance is the fact that Pedroia has done nothing so far in the majors to back up your opinions, and that Cora doesn't hurt the team when he plays. I agree that we have to see what Pedroia can do, but so far in the 2 months we have seen so far, he hasn't shown much ability to hit big leauge pitching. Edit- You must live a boring life if you can't stand people you don't share the same opinion as you. I personally think it is more interesting to see what people on the opposite side of the spectrum have to say.
  7. I say play Cora until like Crespo said earlier he cools off. When you have a hot bat you ride it. I am not sold that Pedroia is ever going to be that good, but I suppose you have to give him a chance to play a little more. If he doesn't respond at all this season then they better be looking for another fix at 2nd base this offseason. For the time being I really do like Cora at second though. He is an above average defender and he can handle the bat very well. Sure he may not hit .300, but if he gets consistent playing time, he could probably hit around .270, maybe hit 8-10 homeruns and drive in 50-60 runs. He improves the infield defense, and he is a solid situational hitter IMO. Right now with a runner at 3rd with less than two outs, I feel most confident that other than Ortiz right now, Cora is the guy I want at the plate. He just knows how to play and help the team win ballgames.
  8. Exactly, even if he wasn't dominant, he gave the Yankees innings.
  9. Lester did not sit around 94 often. There were a lot of nights where the fastball did not climb above 91.
  10. Donnelly has been very good so far, and he has been pretty good for the last 5 years with the Angels.
  11. Biggest supprise of April.... Okajima, this guy has a deceptive FB with a pretty excellent Forkball/Changeup. He also has a pretty good curveball. I think he should be the 8th inning guy over Timlin, how does not look to good at this point.
  12. It would be encouraging if he could sit at 93-95. Last year he was 88-92, and he was wild. I think the extra 2 mph could make him the dominant pitcher the Red Sox FO thought he was going to be. Not the average pitcher he was when he was called up. I have no idea if it was the cancer that hindered his pitching. I think Lester should be called up after a few more starts in AAA. Tavarez pitched O.K., but how many times is he going to do that, IMO not many.
  13. This trade makes the Patriots clear cut favorites to win the superbowl. I thought they were allready in good shape to make another run, and this IMO puts them on another level. I can't wait to watch this team next season. This is exciting news, and a nice 18th Birthday present!
  14. So you have little faith that Manny will hit 30-40 hrs and drive in 120 runs? If we trade Manny, then we throw all the money in the world at AROD. That is the only scenario I see possible, when talking about unloading Ramirez.
  15. You know how excellent it would be if we tagged Karstens for like 5 runs in the first inning. The Yankees need him to go deep into the game today, but if he pitched the way he did on saturday, then the Yankees will be rolling out the bullpen yet again today. http://www.thesportstruth.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/08/manny-ramirez-flag.jpg Manny Mojo anyone?
  16. The Yankees have to be devestated right now.
  17. I love watching Crespo and ORS rip people's arguements apart, unless it's me of course.
  18. Great inning by Timlin. Jima in the 8th then Papelbon anyone?
  19. All things considered I would take that almost everythime against the Yankees.
  20. Pena hit .300 last year, he should play more than Crisp. Crespo is right, Coco is just not that good.
  21. This has probably been the worst month of Manny's career. The Red Sox are 14-7, if he was hitting like Manny we may be like 16-5 or something like that.
