  1. The first Nesn game will be tomorrow night at 7:00. The Sox beat BC 24-0 today, Beckett fanned 4 in two innings.
  2. I think if both the Yankees and Sox are going to be in the 90's for wins, 88 is a little high. I would say no higher than 80. I have also heard that Kazmir is having elbow problems this spring which might put out any chance they have at being sucsessful.
  3. Yawn, managers have mostly nothing to do with how a player performs. As far as having players play injured, I am sure that is up to the FO and player as much as its up to Francona. Seriously how can we complain? We have two frigging rings in 4 years! Just freaking enjoy the success.
  4. That's not going to happen. Every Boston beat writer I have heard says that there is a 95% chance Buchholz is going to be in the rotation.
  5. I think that Buchholz will out produce what Schilling would have done this year anyway. Thats just my opinion. Also I think that DiceK is going to have a much better season then last. Lester should also be very solid seeing on how he has had a regular offseason and has put on a ton of muscle from what I have heard.
  6. Did I hear right that Manny is already at camp?
  7. Yes, but that was one really bad season. The guy eats innings (200+ 4 out of the last 5 years) and would put up a 4.20-4.45 era which would be pretty darn good for this rotation. Plus he was balls in the postseason that year. If you look at his career as a starter 2004 was an abiration in his stats. I know he went to the NL, but I dont think that is going to take 2 full runs of your ERA.
  8. It takes away one interesting component, but seeing Clemens and Mcnamee in the same room is certainly going to be interesting.
  9. It's too bad they Dodgers had to sign Andruw Jones because we could have possibly made a play at D-Lowe. However, with no need at CF, that won't happen.
  10. Thanks bosoxnation07 for giving an example of how to be a dick. Haha, just messing, anyways I think we can get a servicable starter for Coco and a few prospects. I don't really know who's available though...
  11. This guy is the typical case of using PED's. Which is probably why the yankees signed him since it has been their trademark over the past 10 years to put a bunch of steriod users on the field.
  12. I would use to say that with our lineup we didnt need a 30+ hr threat at first base because of having Manny and Ortiz in the middle of the lineup. However, with Manny nearing the end we need to start looking for a middle of the lineup power hitter to replace Manny with. That may require moving Youk at some point to fill that void.
  13. Coco, for Roy Oswalt. Straight up.
  14. Schillinhs going to giver bucholz th einnings'
  15. I like the move. I don't really think Coco being the fourth outfielder would have worked out too well. Keilty was solid for us last year and is very good against left-handed pitching. Hopefully we can get a decent bulpen arm and a good prospect for Crisp. He should bring us back some something decent.
  16. Salute your shorts was excellent, haha. That was back when Niclelodeon was great.
  17. Last night's win was huge IMO. They showed they could beat a western power without KG. I mean seriously this team is for real. They are going to play the pistons in the eastern confrence finals and it is going to be an absoulte dog-fight. I personally can't wait for the NBA playoffs to start. I havent said that forever.
  18. Jayhawk, you may be right, but no matter what happens, he is not going to get playing time here. If he was on the Sox, he would ride the pine. Last time I checked Youkilis and Lowell don't miss that many games. If Casey knows his role he will be a good addition.
  19. With the pitchers and catchers about 2 weeks away I thought I try to stir up some conversation on J.D. Drew. What do you guys think? Do you think he will be the pretty horrific version we saw of him last season or do you think he will go back to the player who is going to hit .285 with 20 homers and 100 RBIS. Personally I think he will be much better than last season. Although I still see him only hitting between 15-17 homers, I think he will hit around .300 and drive in 80-90 runs. Let's face it, he isnt going to hit 30 hrs here because fenway is a terrible homerun park for left-handers. I still think he is going to be very valueable out of the six making our offense very good.
  20. I got 4 tickets for a game on Jun 24 against Arizona in section B95 down the right field line. Has anyone ever sat in this section? I am usually in the grandstand sections 30-15. I decided to switch it up this year. I think these seats are far enough away from Pesky's pole so it won't be a problem.
  21. Would you do this trade? I almost think I would. It appears that Ellsbury is the real deal in CF, and Green is younger and better than Lugo. It is an upgrade at both positions from the beginning of last season. I would be thrilled if this trade happpened.
  22. Would Manning have led the Pats back against the Colts, Ravens and Giants in the 4th quarter? I don't know, but those games Brady single handedly came through and got the Pats a win. I'm not saying Manning isn't great, but there is just something about Brady that is special when the game in on the line.
