My favorite Manny moment would be his first game against the Yankees at Fenway Park, hitting a two-run walkoff single against Rivera giving the Red Sox a 3-2 win in extra innings. Thats where the love began. Sad to see him go, but after having a day to think about it, this needed to happen so at least we got a decent power return for him.
It's not that this deal hurts us terribly, its just the fact that it didnt address the teams weakness, which is the bullpen. Call this trade a wash, and we are still not as good as the Rays and Yankees.
Woah, I am a Manny fan and seriously think this is the most idiotic statement ive ever read. Hopefully Bay will produce, seriously, thats what you should be thinking.
Seriously, he will make an ocassional WTF was that play, but he was never that horrible. Alright, im done pouting about Manny.

Thats what it should be, until Ellsbury starts hitting.
nope, but he has always done a good job at fenway, and he usually doesnt make terrible plays in the outfield.
Alright, Im moving on, Bay is a good player lets hope he produces, because if he doesnt the fans are going to eat him alive.
Yet he was one of the best statisitcal hitters this year. Bay isnt bad, but still its the fear factor that Manny and Ortiz puts into pitchers. Thats valuable, it always is. We will never see another David Ortiz Walk off homerun.
Manny for Bay isnt a horrible deal. But no more players should have been added, unless we got something else in return. The Yankees got Marte and Nady for nothing.
The Nomar trade was brillant in 04. This trade is desepation. Manny was raking and showed no sign of not hitting. The one area this team needed was pitching. We did nothing. We got worse. Worse. and we didnt get any talent for the future.
