  1. You know as fun as it was to watch the Yankees struggle and suck last year, I think it will make the baseball season more interesting with the Yankees as serious contenders. Don't get me wrong, if all these signings blow up in the Yankees face I will be happy, but watching good exciting baseball against hated rivals is much more fun. 2003 through 2004 were collectively my two favorite baseball seasons to follow, and heated, intense passoniate Red Sox Yankees matchups had alot to do with that. I hope we sing Texieira and get another arm, and I think next year could be the best AL race we have ever seen.
  2. I cant really disagree with you, I will say though the Sox bullpen got alot better after July 31st after a pretty rough start to the season.
  3. Oh, and honestly I would personally take a 6 inning pitcher who would have a low to mid 3 ERA and strike out around 9 guys per 9 innings. As far as getting deep into games though, I think that Peavy would be just as good as Beckett and Lester as far as getting into the 7th and 8th innings.
  4. Can you imagine if you traded for Peavy and signed Teixeira? A rotation of Lester Beckett Peavy DiceK Wake Lineup Ellsbury Pedroia Ortiz Tex Youk Bay Drew Lowrie Catcher (prefrebly Varitek if these two things happen) Also with our bullpen of Ramirez Delcarmen Masterson Okajima Papelbon That team would be the favorite to win the AL east, hands down.
  5. Peavy is stud. Period. Three of the last four years he has had a sub 3 ERA, over 200 innings and over 200 strikeouts. What makes you think he would all of a sudden become a 4ish ERA pitcher in the American Leauge? He was much Better than Josh Beckett in the NL, and Beckett had a season where his ERA was 3.27 and last year he was hurt which caused a 4.03 ERA. If you can get this guy, do it.
  6. Did we win 95 games last year, with the team we have now or am I delusional?
  7. Yeah, seriously people are s***ing themselves for no reason. Last time I checked we still have a team that had 95 wins last year, with a bunch of people underperforming and also names like Teixera and Lowe are still available.
  8. Alright, I fail. I get it.
  9. Well, at least i made Gom laugh:dunno:
  10. Haha, I totally deserve every bit of ridicule i get for this. But its giving me a good chuckle.
  11. Haha, Just kidding.
  12. Probably a bit harsh. But the only apeal with this uni's is the fact that they look retro. Can you honestly say that these are better than our old road uniforms?
  13. I think the road uniforms are ugly as s***. So bland, where is the appeal? Oh, and how can they go from the B. Seriously that has been the Boston Icon forever
  14. Why change thought? There was nothing wrong with the old uniforms. Ugh, whatever as long as they dont change the home uniforms, I guess I dont care too much.
  15. Wait this is just an alternate, right? So is this there way to try to offset the money they are losing by not raising ticket prices. There is no way Red Sox will go into 2009 with these as road uniforms.
  16. Pretty darn good deal for the redsox, sounds a little bit like the deal Longoria got from Tampa last spring.
  17. Way to avoid actually providing any validation for your argument. Yeah, good point.
  18. Wow, this shows you dont know that much about football. Seriously, sure Tom Brady had good weapons last year, and what did he do? Reset the NFL record books. Tom Brady's numbers have always been very good even when he hasnt had much talent to work with. Look what he made Deion Branch and David Givens, without Brady they have done nothing. Brady's 3 superbowl rings, 2 superbowl MVPs and regular season MVP talk for themselves. Anybody who has watched every patriots game over the last 8 years knows Tom Brady has never been overated. He is one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the position.
  19. True, but to be fair, he hasnt been the healiest player the last two postseasons. He won 2 huge games in the 03 ALCS, also he didnt pitch terriblely in his ALDS start in 05. But if he is your 5th starter whats the problem? He would be one of the best 5th starters in all of baseball. If we can sign Lowe or Burnett we would have one sick rotation. Beckett Lester Matsuzaka Lowe/Burnett Wake Easily one of the best if not the best rotations in baseball, if Beckett can come back healthy and Lester/DiceK can contiune to improve.
  20. For the Yankees to sign CC, Lowe and Burnett and get Peavy? Sounds pretty far fetched, but if for some reason it did happen there rotation would be pretty sick. CC Burnett Wang Peavy Lowe Personally I hope we get Lowe or Burnett to keep one of them away for the Yanks.
