There is (national interest), but in the Midwest their rivalry is Cubs-Cardinals and in the West it's Dodgers-Giants, but you could make the arugment that those two rivalries haven't met in the postseason like the Yankees-Red Sox have.
We're all dying.
Keep on living life and enjoying moments with your family and friends. Nowadays there are treatment options and cancer is definitely, definitely not a death sentence.
Beltran was insane last year. Cardinals have a better pitching rotation, lost some offense but it levels out against the Astros. They also have a solid BP (minus the threat of a Tavarez meltdown...), so on paper it looks like it's going to be an exciting series.
...And that would have nothing at all to do with a certain pitcher starting game one of the NLCS?
Finally some other time zones get in on the action. Go Cards!
Yeah, Clemens was about the only one left. They'd probably resort to position players pitching or something...
Is it even conceivable that this year's NLCS would be even more thrilling than last year's. Wow.
Jones for a stretch carried the offensive load for the Braves. But the Cards did have their share of injuries, so it's not like Pujols wasn't important to his team. Anyways it'd be interesting to seem them face off the NLCS.
I'd go the other way on that. In fact Carpenter may be the most important player to the Cards' success. With his injuries in the past years, he hasn't been able to contribute, but now, I guess we'll see.
