  1. Welcome.
  2. People who cheated the game are being exposed. Thats what's getting done.
  3. I can't say I'm surprised by this at all.
  4. I can't see why they would still go through with the Pittsburgh deal. Wily Mo fills the need that we would have gotten from Pittsburgh. There's no point in making that deal anymore.
  5. Welcome.
  6. An Interesting stat from Gammo's column
  7. Mind giving another example of a "good pitcher" who only won 24 games in 2 years for a team that made the playoffs both years? Injuries don't count.
  8. Well then your book is different than every single baseball expert in this country.
  9. Definatly. Craig Wilson is injury prone and already 30.
  10. The guy hit 26 HRs when he was 22 ... I dont care how up and down he was. When he's been in the league for a while he'll get more comfortable and be more consistant. Consistancy will also come from having a great hitting coach.
  11. He's 24 f***ing years old. Will everyone please calm down. He's 4 years away from his prime.
  12. He hit 26 HRs when he was 22. His upside is insane. Bronson hit his upside already as you said and it really wasn't much.
  13. Or a righty hitter with power who can play LF if we ever decide to move Manny.
  14. As far as all this hometown discount stuff goes ... how much of a discount was it? I don't see one thing about Bronson whether it be from watching him or looking at his stats that makes me think he's worth anything more than what he got. He's a below average pitcher who can't even throw his fastball for a strike. If you cannot locate your fastball consistantly then you cannot pitch in the Bigs ... Bronson cannot. For Bronson to even belong anywhere near the rotation of a contending team he'd have to improve drastically, and at 29 it's not going to happen. Bronson should be happy we were even willing to give him a contract.
  15. Yeah a whole 24. Considering we made the playoffs both years, that's pathetic.
  16. Look if you're not good enough to be on the team then we're going to trade you. I dont care if you signed for a hometown discount ... if you can't cut it ... goodbye.
  17. Damnit. My bad. I always love seeing Yankee fans try to back track.
  18. Really. He's 29 and he still can't locate his fastball consistantly ... he's only going to go downhill from here.
  19. He's gonna have to stand on his head just to match last years numbers. I doubt Yankee fans are worried about his bat though. I'd be concerned with his fielding getting better.
  20. I think you're the smart guy. You're the one that thought Theo was the one that made his deal.
  21. Thats exactly the reason you haven't heard a lot about it. There's not a lot of room for any kind of discussion besides March Madness. When you throw in the start of the season there is little to no room on talk shows for WBC talk. Just because people aren't talking about something doesn't mean it's not popular. How often do you hear about Nascar? Yet millions and millions of people in this country love it.
  22. s*** I didn't know you worked for the Red Sox Front Office ... can you get me tickets?
  23. Whenever I hear Boehringers name I have to laugh ... what a miserable failure. Like I said about Arroyo ... when you're not good enough to be on the Pirates you should retire. I'm currently looking for a list, but haven't found one yet with the complete acquisitions.
  24. He has done a great job as Commish, and he set the NFL up for years to come with the new CBA. He deserves to retire, and should be proud of the work he did for the NFL.
