1. I saw that Rich Harden was claimed off waivers by a mystery team. Wonder if it could've been the Sox...
2. I remember I drove down to Boston on a Friday to see a night game against Toronto with the threat of rain and was scared shitless that there was gonna be a rainout. There was a 45 min delay and they played nearly the entire game in a sustained mist. Got lucky there cause they've must've really wanted to get the game in.
3. Boston does but Toronto heads down to Texas. But like I posted above, Toronto comes back to Boston at the end of September.
4. so what's your question? what happens if your game is rained out? they'll probably have a doubleheader either on Sunday or at the end of September when the Jays come back to Boston
5. It's more like I saw a thread with the name Daniel Nava in the title with one reply, that reply coming from "jacksonianmarch" and knew immediately what he wrote and how he couldn't avoid his fetish for poopooing any sort of Sox-related optimism so I then decided to go into "piss off Jacko" mode. If it took the guy until age 26 to get it going and he makes it to the majors at age 28, big deal? is it completely unheard of?
6.
Topic|Team|Content Prospect|Yankees|The player in question is made of 150% pure awesomeness. Fear us. Prospect|Sox|He could be good, but this is why he won't be. Signing|Yankees|This is the missing piece. We'll win 160 games, and the umps will screw us out of 2. Signing|Sox|Risky move, overpaid here, they'll regret this. Injury|Yankees|They don't get hurt. Hypothetically, if they did, the recovery will be speedy with no impact to ability. Injury|Sox|Everyone is a ticking time bomb. Once hurt, they'll never heal right.
7. Not really. There's no in-house replacement for Lowell besides Youkilis which would then leave a hole at first most likely occupied by Martinez. Then you have a hole at catcher and DH.
8. The Red Sox don't have anyone beyond the 40-man roster who would have a K-Rod 2002-like effect no matter how far deep into hypotheticals you want to go. And I have zero problem with the Yankees doing what they did.
9. I think it's completely irrelevant.
10. I'm surprised he made it all the way to the Yankees through waivers
11. Hunter Jones too perhaps
12. What's with you calling everyone champ lately? I don't think his knee or wrist are bothering him right now. I always saw Ortiz as being somewhat mentally fragile and this season, that definitely showed.
13. Since May 20th, there are two guys who are in the top five in the AL in both HRs and RBIs. One is Mark Teixeira. Guess the other...
14. Colorado is interested apparently, I dont feel like going to find the link
15. To me, there's something to be said about a pitcher coming up big down the stretch when his team is in the thick of things which doesn't bode well for Greinke or Halladay. Although neither of them are at fault for their teams sucking.
16. not a big loss anyway. Byrd can give at least what Penny has been giving as of Sept. 1st
17. I doubt Penny's wearing down was totally unexpected by the FO. They probably thought Smoltz would be in top form by this time.
18. Milwaukee is out of it, they won't go after Penny. Someone will, but not them
19. overall, he gave the team about what I expected. He didn't stink all season long. Up until recently, he gave the team a chance to win with most of his outings which is all you can expect from your fifth starter. Probably not considering the comments Larry Bowa made about his last ST.
20. My point exactly. I'm gonna go ahead and call you a liar on that one.
