  1. That's more up to the manager and organization than it is the ability of the player...
  2. Dice-K would have to be spectacular in the handful of starts he would get and Buchholz has to falter for that to happen First off, you don't use a fifth starter in the postseason. And why are you so down on Buchholz? He's pitched very well lately
  3. the WBC is an MLB-run event... besides, injuries are more likely when players get ramped up too early in the spring to play for that thing
  4. teams would freak out over their pitchers putting even more innings in after a 7-month season....there literally is no good time to do the WBC unless the MLB season takes a two-week break in July every four years like the NHL does when the Olympics come around
  5. he isn't, he was pulled mid-save the other night in favor of Madson
  6. having some semblance of an effective Dice-K starting Tuesday even gives us probably a better playoff rotation than in 2007
  7. Beautifully-pitched double header today. I'm feeling better about the rotation after this series
  8. lol, what a cheapie
  9. wow, Lester is absolutely spectacular
  10. Pat Burrell really didn't like that call
  11. ill be here until the football starts, quite honestly but yea, I think Buchholz has a spot on the playoff roster by default if anything
  12. nice play by Buch, and nice recovery from the leadoff walk
  13. whoa, Dipre was banned?
  14. I don't want to see Papelbon anywhere but as the closer. Ramon Ramirez allowed 1 ER in his first 20 IP for this team this year, would you have moved Pap for him as the closer?
  15. I can't believe we live in a world where Michael Jordan is a HOFer but Craig Ehlo sits out in the cold...
  16. I'd say it will entirely depend on the market for Wagner and the market probably gets better and better for him the better he pitches.
  17. I'd say it's entirely possible to appreciate Billy Mueller without bringing in Mike Lowell comparisons
  18. Serious-f***ing-ly
  19. Victor is a pinch-hitting beast
  20. They've been pretty comparible numbers-wise since June 1st. And my entire point is to refute his "They can't have another season with a .225 hitting DH." comment since Pena hit .227 this season.
  21. thats a very fair comparison IMO
