    He didn't mention anything about his defensive abilities. And considering he was hobbled, he was still pretty productive, granted not $13 million productive but he remains a tough out for any team

    Damon is pretty conceited, but he is right. He was hobbled last year but still played 141 games. Fact is though, his injuries are catching up with him and will keep catching up with him so I'm not so sure he'll continue to be durable And Buster Olney said the Padres and Yanks briefly discussed a trade involving Melky and Hughes for Jake Peavy although Peavy is still 2 years away from free agency

    I felt sorry for Bruins fans not only when they traded Thornton for a collection of scrubs, but when they traded Brad Boyes for Dennis Wideman. But I'm a Habs fan so I really have no pity

    the fact that it was Schilling who had the weight clause added opened my eyes a little bit. I guess he really wanted to stay here

    good work Schilling as well. he showed a loyalty rarely seen in sports today cause I'm sure he could've got 3 years and $36 million somewhere else

    So with Schilling seemingly back with the Sox, the rotation would look like: Beckett Schilling Dice-K Lester Buchholz Wakefield yup, I put 6 names because I strongly believe the Sox should go with a 6 man rotation next season as it would benefit just about every member of that rotation with the exception of maybe Beckett. More rest would perhaps prevent another dead arm period for Schilling. Dice-K always pitches better with an extra day of rest. Wakefield's shoulder would hold up better with more rest. Lester is still recovering from cancer and is still a young arm and Buchholz would benefit from pitching a limited amount of innings. But if they stick with a 5 man rotation, Wakefield would look awfully good as a long reliever/spot starter which would then mean either Tavarez or Snyder would have to go

    I don't think the FO really gives a s*** about the public perception with how this ordeal turns out. They never cared much about what people thought about the Pedro thing or the Damon thing. Add to the fact that I think RSN has more and more faith in this FO as the years go by that they trust them to make the decisions that turn out best for this team. I know I do

    Pittsburgh would be a stupid job to take right now. Farrell will have a sick rotation and bullpen to coach for the next few years in Boston which will only make his stock rise that much more and open up better opportunities for him

    I don't see how you forecast this now. Who knows what the roster will look like after next season, who will be available via trade or free agency, etc.
