  1. It just seems like this is another case of Boston and NY trying to drive the price up on each other. I don't think either will pull the trigger.
  2. That really doesn't matter. The only way Halladay will go to NY is if NY ponies up a package that beats what everyone else is willing to offer. Would Adrian be dealt to Boston for less just because Hoyer is on good terms with the organization?
  3. When the hell does the board ever get a collective hard on for signings like these?!
  4. I could've sworn those two were acquired via trade and not free agency, like the gentleman is alluding to.
  5. Nice draw for Argentina, kick ass
  6. that's what ST is for
  7. I can definitely live with this deal as a two-year contract. There's no question it's an upgrade over the SS position last season which is how you have to look at it IMO.
  8. this won't be pretty
  9. Neither is Wagner. Point is, it directly affects the Red Sox.
  10. meh, I guess I'm just more interested when actual news happens
  11. Seriously, have the Sox been linked to every FA out there? Is there even a point in mentioning names anymore?
  12. Are we really gonna debate the likelyhood of Atlanta signing all those FAs?
  13. That's a wonderful deal for you guys. Yea, he'll be 38 when the deal is up but it's a small price to pay for such a reasonable cap hit and considering his greatest asset is his passing which won't really deteriorate with age.
  14. Amazing, 5 years later and people are still clamoring for the Sox to re-acquire Cabrera
  15. My concern about Pedroia at short is his range and, to a lesser extent, his arm. I fear the amount of seeing eye singles to left if Lowell stays at third with Pedroia at short.
  16. Apparently he got into the accident right after leaving his home (at 2am for some reason). They said charges are pending so maybe he got into a fight with his wife.
  17. Woods Injured in Crash Near Home
  18. My guess is Theo is gonna see if he can acquire the bat he's looking for (Ex. Holliday, Gonzalez, Cabrera) and that will determine whether he'll need to fill the SS position with someone who can only field or someone who needs to be able to field and hit. And BTW Mino, don't butcher names as bad as Scuatura and expect people who consider your opinion seriously.
  19. Observe how you didn't back up your "injury plagued two years" comment
  20. Buchholz but it has nothing to do with Buchholz as much as it has to do with the fact that Lester has emerged as an absolute stud. I had a feeling you'd counter with the "well he threw a no-hitter" argument like it actually f***ing matters. And how do you call a year where 11 of his 16 ML starts were quality starts "mediocre"? And what injuries has he had over the last two years besides a torn fingernail exactly?
  21. I'm absolutely baffled by the Jays signing Gonzalez. Between him and John McDonald, their two shortstops have good gloves and no bat.
  22. lol, using the word "Yankees" and "save up" in the same sentence without using "don't have to"
