    agreed...to an extent. Lester pitched most of his outing with his team down a run and unable to put anything on the board, and that run was scored in an inning extended by Lowrie's error on a flare that Bay probably could've had whereas Billingsley was pitching with a 5-run lead from just about the get-go

    to be fair, Matsui has hit about that every year he hasn't been injured but over the last 3 years, he's made JD Drew look like Cal Ripken and realistically, what can you expect from a guy turning 35 next season who's missed about 200 games in the past 3 seasons?

    damn near every rookie comes to a point where they're forced to make adjustments and fix their weaknesses to become a solid major leaguer who can be counted on to hit for average. Pedroia did that, it looks like Jacoby is doing it now and now Lowrie is gonna have to figure it out

    they could have traded him in the past if they really wanted to. think about it, they gave up Manny, payed the rest of his salary for the season and threw in 2 prospects, its very clear they were fed up. by all accounts, the "Manny being Manny" crap has been worse this year than any other year

    the way I see it, Ellsbury went through the growing pains of every rookie. He comes in, absolutely rakes cause pitchers don't know how to pitch him. Once they get the book on him (pitch inside cause he has a long swing), it's up to him to make the adjustment. He made the adjustment (no more leg kick, hence a shorter swing) at the right time
