  1. its a blessing if the Yanks have the ability to get out of the contract
  2. im talking about significant elbow/shoulder injuries, not torn obliques
  3. Which will make him the first guy to be banned 15 times I believe
  4. Sabathia is ripe to break down imminently. Beckett is also $13 million a year cheaper. And do you really think the Yankees with Sabathia, and his phenomenal post-season record, are better than the Rays?
  5. Yea, Damon, Jeter, A-Rod and Posada are just about to hit their peak years....
  6. the way you're posting, it would suggest you're just about ready to jump off the tobin bridge. do everyone a favor and do it
  7. FACT: David Ortiz, Curt Schilling and Keith Foulke were probably the three biggest reasons we won in '04, all Epstein acquisitions. You just said Theo was outclassed by Cashman for not signing CC, you hypocritical bloody tampon
  8. My bad, I meant Greg Genske
  9. Boras played this one quite well, playing CC's desire to play on the West Coast against Cashman
  10. Like I said in another thread, realistically speaking, how much could he possibly improve on what Mussina gave the Yankees last year?
  11. I hear Sabathia's first order of business in NY will be to get the exact address for Original Ray's, Famous Ray's, Original Famous Ray's and Famous Original Ray's
  12. yup, thats just what NYers will like. Having to pay more taxes to fund f***ing baseball stadiums with the economy the way it is
  13. I didnt say I believed it. I simply said HA! in reference to the fact that things change pretty much by the minute at these stupid meetings
  14. I really f***ing hate the winter meetings and all the ******** that comes out the lobby of the Bellagio hotel and casino "CC wants to pitch for the Dodgers. CC is gonna meet with the Red Sox and Angels. CC met with the Yankees in a late night meeting. CC wont sign with anyone this week cause CC is meeting with San Fran next week" By the end of the damn week, every single team will be linked to CC
  15. Rosenthal says its done
  16. You guys have two starting pitchers right now, unless you include Kennedy and Hughes. Kinda hard to make a judgement on what the rotation will look like.
  17. ....until you get to the playoffs You gotta think C.C.'s workload is gonna catch up with him though at some point
  18. so if they re-sign Blake, I guess that means Martin will stay at catcher for them meaning Varitek isn't going there either
  19. a bit of a far cry from that 5-year, $75 million deal he was looking for...
  20. I think his sheer ability to put his bat on almost any pitch will make him one of the toughest outs in baseball for years to come
  21. Updating Coco's note, the Braves have signed David Ross to backup McCann. Ross got a 2-year, $3 million deal
  22. I think what Gom was saying is that once pitchers learn to pitch Pedroia on the outside of the plate, he becomes nothing more than a singles hitter. That being said, he's full of s***. Every hitter is less effective if the pitcher hits his spot, either inside or outside. But Pedroia is one of the best bad ball and contact hitters in baseball and he's gotten more than his share of doubles by cuing an outside pitch down the line.
