C - Martinez 1B - Tex 2B - Push 3B - ARod SS - Jeter LF - Ellsbury CF - Granderson RF - Drew DH - Ortiz Yankees have the better offense on paper, I won't dispute that. -
I'd like to reserve this comment until the deal is actually finalized but ideally, he realized he knows f*** all about contract negotiations.

That's an interesting OBP projection for V-Mart considering he's had an OBP above .370 in 4 out of his 5 full seasons. -
Impressive that they went into NJ and won but the thing hurting the Bruins is that they have 35 wins compared to Montreal's 37 and Philly's 38. Wins are the primary tiebreaker. But that should only affect their seeding if they keep winning since Atlanta only has 34 wins.

That's the most shocking thing I've read on the Internet since Ricky Martin admitting he's gay. It's still a better pen on paper than what the Yankees are sporting.

We were all shocked in 2005 when Beckett signed that initial extension for a relatively modest amount of money. These reports say there is optimism that a deal will be done in the next week or two so for now, I'll take the word of the people familiar with what's going on.

I still think there's value in a guy who could be a very solid DH, could provide a reliable glove at 3B if the team he goes to has a high-range SS and, by all accounts, is a great clubhouse influence. But Jacko pretends he's harder to get rid of than a half-dozen garbage bags full of muffin stumps.
