  1. He Better Not Be Traded
  2. interesting lineup tonight
  3. hears the actual articly in SI---- By Tom Verducci MANNY'S MOOD SWINGS Manny Ramirez wants out of Boston. Again. The Red Sox leftfielder has asked to be traded for at least the third time in the past four seasons. He told team officials he is unhappy in Boston, particularly with his lack of privacy off the field. The Red Sox have no intention of trading Ramirez (.277, 27 homers, 90 RBIs) -- not during the season, anyway. They could field offers in the off-season for Ramirez, who is due $57 million over the next three years. Boston has learned to live with Ramirez's moods in order to keep his bat. He asked to be traded in spring training 2002, and again after the '03 season. However, when Boston agreed in principle to trade Ramirez to Texas as part of the ill-fated Alex Rodriguez deal, Ramirez telephoned owner John Henry late one night pleading to stay. SI
  4. if manny was traded to the mets, this is what a expect in return 1. Jose Reyes, ss 2. David Wright, 3B 3. Victor Diaz, 1B/RF 4. Lastings Milledge, CF 5. best pitching prospect (Yusmeiro Petit?)
  5. yea two years ago he maade fun of walker. last year it was bellhorn and damon. this guys is hilarious
  6. i dont no if i could watch the redsox if manny is traded
  7. we'd have to give a lot up for howard but i would definitly want him
  8. if we do end up getting burnett, id like to see lowell here to especially if millars still on the team because they are very good friends. hes also been doing very good since the allstar game
  9. I think theo needs to make 3 trades. 1. mueller and millar for mays and romero. 2. Mays, arroyo and anibal for burnett and lowell 3. get a 1B such as dimitri young or ryan howard (preferably young because he would be cheaper).
  10. i think ortiz and young could switch of 1B and DH. I think the redsox will only get another 1B only if they can get rid of Millar.
  11. id love to see d young in boston. we need to move on from kevin millar and get some power at 1B. Ryan Howard might be tough to get because he is only 24 and the Phillies. Big upgrade power wise (16 hr) average is .250 1 negative is he has only played 28 games at 1B this year but is a .990 career fielder at 1B. (which is average since ortz also has a .990 career pct.) Scouting Report---- Hitting A switch-hitter, Young has fast hands and loves to jump on first-pitch fastballs. His hand-eye coordination is excellent. For a hitter who does not walk much, he does not strike out much, either. He is balanced in his stance and covers both side of the plate well. He takes the ball to all different fields. Young is a better hitter lefthanded than righthanded, but he might have more power righthanded. Baserunning & Defense Young has gotten bigger with age, but he remains a good athlete. Last season, he was thrust mostly in the role of DH upon his return from the disabled list. His best position is first base-he did not make an error there in 25 games last season. In 2003, Young played 61 games in the outfield, but last season, because he was coming off a leg injury, it was just two. He is a below-average outfielder, but he will make the routine play and throw to the right base. Young's worst position is third. Putting him there is a stretch at this stage of his career. He has below-average speed, but he is a smart baserunner who runs hard at all times
