  1. i like hudson and hilenbrand but i dont think the blue jays are going to make any trade soon because they still think they hav a shot for the playoffs if they get another sp possibly shmidt hudson is an upgrade defensivley (4 errors in 86 games this year  ) offenively is better than bellhorn but not as good as belliard or grafinino
  2. Exactly, this trade is retarded :thumbdown Bill Muellers is probaly one of if not the hardest working player on the team
  3. The Red Sox have called the Twins looking for pitching. Boston is believed to be interested in lefthander J.C. Romero, who could help stabilize a bullpen that had a 5.51 ERA entering Monday -- the second-highest in the American League. The Twins, of course, are looking for hitting, and the Red Sox might be willing to deal veteran third baseman Bill Mueller, who is batting .277 with four homers, 36 RBI and a .379 on-base percentage. Mueller was the 2003 AL batting champion when he hit .326 with 19 homers and 85 RBI. Those numbers fell to .283, 12 and 57 last year. He is making $2.5 million and will be a free agent after the season. First baseman-outfielder Kevin Millar also is available, although he indicated to Boston reporters he would prefer to stay with the World Series champions. Minneapolis Star Tribune
  4. bellhorns time is over. he shouldnt start when he comes back. we need a solid 2b for 1 or 2 years. dont need soriano but need someone like a belliard or grafinino
  5. BELLIARD-30 yrs old AVG-.277 HR-8 RBI-34 fielding pct.-.979 sb-2 in 80 games this year Graffaninio-33 yrs old AVG-.298 HR-3 RBI-18 fielding pct.-.987 sb-3 in 59 games this year
  6. Rumor on ESPN is red sox and twins are talking about a trade that would send bill mueller to the twins for JC Romero. Romero Romero would be nice to have, but Bill Mueller is tough to lose
  7. I think Graffinino is a great short term pick up for this year. Next year hopefully pedroia is ready to play 2B graffinino herald
  8. Graffanino on radar The Sox are believed to have shown interest in acquiring veteran second baseman Tony Graffanino from the Kansas City Royals. The Sox unsuccessfully attempted to sign the 33-year-old as a free agent two winters ago, but the Royals are expected to try to pare their larger salaries (Graffanino makes $1.1 million) in the upcoming weeks. The right-handed hitter, who plays all four infield positions, would be an ideal fit for a team currently carrying 12 pitchers. Graffanino entered last night batting .298 with three homers. . . . Boston Herald I think grafanino is a good short term replacement and probaly wont cost to much.
  9. wered u hear he was designated for assignment? hes having a bad year this year but he could help if he pitched like he did last year
  10. we need a 2B badly. maybe Soriano?
  11. might be a good move
  12. Burnett to Baltimore Iminent The trade would send Burnett, third baseman Mike Lowell and perhaps minor league outfielder Eric Reed to the Orioles for Julio, outfielder Larry Bigbie and top pitching prospect Hayden Penn. Peter Gammons says it will happen within next 24 hours.
  13. possible three way trade RED SOX-get Burnett MARLINS-get Sean Burroughs and Chris Hammond from Padres, Arroyo and Brandon Moss from Sox PADRES-get Lowell from Marlins, cash and prospect from Marlins or Sox Valerio de los Santos-reliever for marlins also could be in deal
  14. MLB aide: Sox will get Burnett (7-17-05] Marlins righthander A.J. Burnett will be traded to the Red Sox within a week, an MLB official said yesterday. Boston plans to sign Burnett to an extension. Red Sox special assistant Bill Lajoie watched Burnett's outing Thursday in Philadelphia, when he allowed six runs in five innings, including second-inning homers to Pat Burrell, Ryan Howard and Mike Lieberthal. Burnett is 5-6 with a 3.64 ERA in 18 starts this season. "There is no truth at all to any deal we are making with the Marlins," Sox GM Theo Eptein said via an E-mail. From the New York Daily News
