  1. So we can scratch Aceves off 2morrow nights game availability. Nice bullpen management.
  2. Cant assume throwing out a baserunner???? Really? Thats the best excuse for the kid??? He was OUT BY 10 FEET!!!
  3. wait a minute.....everone cant jump on board now emmz!!!! I was killed ALL SEASON for hating on Salty. In the biggest game of the season he strikes out, hits into a double play, pops up on the first pitch with a runner on first and throws a ball wide of the second base bag by 5 feet and cant block a ball coming in from the OF to allow another run to score.
  4. OHHHHH. You mean all those batters that came up AFTER Salty couldnt make a throw a little league catcher makes everyday to throw out possible the slowest runner in the game? Yup, you got me. BA, .235 OBP, .289 Still cant throw.........and you still defend him hahahaha.
  5. Nope, Beckett is fine. If Salty makes that throw to second (you know, basic things) Vlad is out by 3 steps and the inning is over.
  6. SALTY SALTY SALTY SALTY!!!!!!!!
  7. season....over. Nice f***ing throw Salty. Any competant catcher makes that throw and Guerrero is out and the inning os over. Yup, hes top 5.....f***ing all star he is.
  8. shhhh. top 5.
  9. this is a train wreck waiting to happen.......
  10. dont say that around here!!!! He is a top 5 catcher according to some members on this board.
  11. sick on base skills salty
  12. maybe you will all start to realize that I was NEVER pessimistic the past 2 years. I stated my opinion, which I believed to be true. They just arent that good. 100 wins? I f***ign laughed when I heard that s*** in the offseason.

    truth.
  14. haha Im famous and in their eyes, right
  15. My post was not necessarily geared towards Crawford. It was towards the argument that they cannot get rid of big contracts, most specifically Lackey. They can get rid of these deals with the money they have coming off the books and the money this franchise has at its disposal. I have no problem is CC stays as long as they are able to fix this club in other areas. #1 priority needs to be pitching (once again). The entire bullpen needs to be blown up again minus Paps and Bard. Aceves should be in the rotation next year, which means they need another starting pitcher and 3 or 4 new bullpen arms. God Theo has been terrible at building bullpens.
  16. Lackey and Crawford is not undealable. JD Drews 14 Million dollar per year contract is coming off the books. Pay the annual money towards (14 million) towards Lackeys deal and trade him to a team willing to pay him 4 million a year. DiceK's 10 million a year contract is coming off the books next year. Ortiz's salary is potentially coming off the books. Pay 10 million dollars a year towards his deal and a team might take on Crawford for 6 years at an average of 10 million per year. What would be the difference between paying those salaries off and the production we have gotten out of DiceK and Drew this year? The money is spent just the same, and they will get zero production out of paying for Lackey and Crawford to pack their s*** just the same as they got zero production out of DiceK and Drew being on the roster this year. Again, it depends on how motivated the front office is about turning this thing around. When small market teams sign bad contracts, they are stuck and screwed with them becuase he have little funds. The Sox are fully capable of getting rid of these guys.
  17. I agree with Aviles. He can be the utility guy. I think Buehrle is retiring after this year, isnt he? EDIT:NVM, its his last start for CHI, not his career.
  18. They were awful to watch all year last year, and a solid 2 months this season, but whatever I can see your point. I think Paps has to stay, hes a proven big game pitcher in this market. After this year we dont ever have to hear about Daniel Bard closing again, not after a 2-9 record as a setup man. I also would not mind seeing Ortiz back either, as long as the deal is team friendly. Drew, Crawford, Reddick, Lowrie, Scutaro, Varitek, Bedard, Lackey, Wakefield, DiceK, Albers, Bowden, Miller, Wheeler, Jenks, Mcdonald..... They all need to go. These guys are either hurt too often, too old, dead weight, not good enough or are just not a fit for Boston. I am hesitant to add Bard to that list. The entire bullpen, minus Papelbon and MAYBE Bard needs to be once again blown up, dismantled and put back together. This is a reoccurring theme with Theo's bullpens. Beckett, Buccholz and Lester are 1,2 and 3. Aceves can be your number 4 or 5. Find another back of the rotation guy to replace Lackey/Wakefield/bedard/DiceK. Maybe they should give Doubront the starts. Can he really be much worse than Lackey? If they Sox find ways to get rid of Crawford/Lackey, the money they would be saving with the departures of Drew and DiceK (next year) would be a wash considering we will be paying a HUGE chunk of both Lackey and Crawfords contracts. LF and RF will take a hit. Maybe Lavarnaway learns LF (hell, Reggie Jefferson, Jose Canseco, Wil Cordero, Manny Ramirez, Brian Daubach, Kevin Millar, Eric Hinske, Kevin Youkilis all did it for a time period.) and Kalish plays RF while Ortiz stays with the team and DH's. Once again, we need to find a SS. Scutaro was nice, but we need to shake this entire thing up. Find another SS, there has got to be a long term solution out there, somewhere.
  19. Thank you people for looking at this disaster objectively. I do not wish bad upon this team, but everything that I have said is true. This team is awful, everything about them. The last 2 years have been miserable to be a Sox fan. How about fans start booing the Sweet Caroline song.....get the s*** outta here. No need for that crap, the song sucks anyway. My biggest concern, is that they will march this same s***** team out there next year. The problem is, they are making money.....a TON of money. They opened up the checkbook the last 2 years and it has netted Crawford, Lackey, Cameron, and Jenks. What if ownership says that enough is enough? Someone needs to be held accountable. If ownership REALLY cares about baseball and winning, they will do anything possible to dump DiceK, Lackey and Crawford in the off season regardless of the money we have to eat. Carl Crawford needs to pack his f***ing bags and get the hell out. After the 7-5 loss the other night, he had this to say to Gordon Edes: "I don't know why you're standing here while I dress,'' I quoted Crawford as saying while several reporters, including yours truly, hovered nearby, "because when I'm dressed I'm leaving.'' I also wrote that Crawford said, "Go ask the captain,'' directing reporters to Jason Varitek, who had not played in Tuesday night's game. Are you kidding me? Cant face the critics Carl? 20 million dollars a year and you cant answer questions about your sore neck or terrible season? Passing the buck to the captain who is on his way out the door and is the teams backup catcher? Coward. Carl Crawford pulled a Manny Ramirez/Nomar Garciapparra as far as I am concerned. Get his ass out of town. No more excuses, no more coddling....as Sox fans we deserve accountability for this disaster. Heads need to roll, people need to be fired and certain players should be discarded at any means necessary.
