  1. The market for effective RP this year was pretty steep. Given their current position and dependence on other things falling in place properly (their injured players coming back seamlessly, Lackey, etc), that's not an unreasonable position to take. There's more than the BP in the way right now.
  2. Burnett got smoked tonight.
  3. Suns is happy because they took the cork off of his fork today.
  4. Dude wanted them to pick up Scott Podsednik and thinks they should sac bunt more. Why bother?
  5. Just got home and I see Shitbrick is up to his old tricks. So glad we don't have to worry about this guy. [/a700]
  6. Elias uses a proprietary blend of stats over the last two years to rate the FA class. They've never published how they come about the rankings, but I believe it has been reported that they sub in career averages for time missed on the DL.
  7. And water is wet. Point is, this is baseball, more cookies get missed than hit, even by great hitters. I only say this because your posts indicate an unreasonable expectation that they will indeed hit all the good pitches they get. If this isn't your expectation, I'm sorry for misreading your posts, but it is a theme.
  8. Right, because both TB and NY can win tonight. Oh wait.... With the pitching they've been getting and Pedroia / Ellsbury on the horizon, they'll see how the last two months play out, IMO.
  9. Color me absolutely shocked that Jacko would let such a love-fest simmer for so long without taking a dump in the sauce pan. Must be a butt-load of bedpans at the hospital tonight. ON TOPIC: With the return of the starters, followed by the regulars on the offense, this team has a shot.....at it all.
  10. I think it's a pretty safe bet that they offer arb and he declines. He'll get multiple years out of what he's doing this year.
  11. It went offline for me at about 8:00 pm Central time. I didn't try it again after that.
  12. More than they'd like to, I'm sure. However, that they are willing to sink cost in ridding themselves of unproductive players so that they can make roster room for someone who is more productive doesn't really support the idea that they are cheap, does it?
  13. What they did was lead the league in runs before they were horrendously banged up. Apparently, that still isn't good enough to be in the conversation with the historically awesome (not really) Yankee offense. Those guys helped them survive the loss of Ellsbury and Cameron, but the loss of Pedroia and Martinez was too much. Those are the injuries (along with Buchholz) that people are pointing to.
  14. This is the most expensive team they have ever fielded. It's sucking right now because several key players got hurt, but the claim of them penny pinching doesn't ring true. And, nobody is "stealing" anything. If you pay to go to the games, that's your choice, it wasn't forced on you.
  15. To the part in bold, I think, for the most part, everyone sees the same thing you see. For the rest, I agree.
  16. Why bother? He's been a moving target with his complaints, I wouldn't expect that to change. The only constant is the complaining.
  17. Two IF lineouts in that inning is unfortunate, which right in line with the theme of this season.
