  1. Oh well, worked out for them. EDIT: And it would be a tie game if Johnny O is playing.
  2. Gordon may be a mistake. Tek hits for higher average from the right side but more power from the left, and there is the short porch at the stadium.
  3. Swiss family Robinson Cano is really trying to lose his job to Bellhorn.
  4. 4-3 still if Johnny O is playing. That stellar KevinFC defense comes through again.
  5. Sveum. Could have had 2nd and 3rd with Bill Mueller up. Unbelievable. The play wasn't even close.
  6. Wow, offense is s***ing the bed tonight.
  7. Great outing for Matt. Don't let this go to waste boys. Get those bats warmed up.
  8. We have a really rough time with pitchers like Byrd. Changes speed a lot and locates all over around the 'zone. McCarthy did it on Labor day. Rodrigo Lopez pitches the same way and gives us fits (usually, not last week). If a team in the East had 3 righties that locate and 2 lefties (with 3 of the 5 being rookies) we'd go 0-19 against them.
  9. Tissues are in the bathroom. Yes today's was bad, but yesterday's was very marginal and impossible to say definitely either way in real-time speed.
  10. Holy crap to we struggle with these type of pitchers. Fella's, these type of guys aren't going to walk you, you've got to move the lumber and hit it where they ain't.
  11. 9 up, 9 down for Matt. I kind of like this starting pitching thing. Waiter, runs please.
  12. http://www.lpl.arizona.edu/~umpire/clipart/softball/umpire2.gif That called 3rd strike to Trot was a good 8-12 inches outside.
  13. Should have had at least 3 tonight. Lou ran himself out of a run.
  14. 8-pitch 1-2-3 start for Matt.
  15. O-Cab... http://amerisports.org/asmwss/images/anim/umpire_strike_call.gif
  16. Thread compliance. Quit steering everything thread towards the pinstripers.
  17. Also, I don't mean anything malicious by it. But it does ring true to me, and it makes me laugh when I think about it. Same thing with the Shrek thing. Both nicknames have a degree of credibility because of the similarity of their looks to the names. Besides, only the players that hurt a team most get this type of treatment. Nobody is calling Flaherty or Mirabelli anything other than their names.
  18. It wouldn't bother me, but others may take serious issue. Remember where you are. I wouldn't call Mo the Fruit Bat on a Yankee board out of respect, but I'm not on one. If you don't want to hear bad things about the team we all hate most, then why are you here?
  19. I'd be very surprised if he isn't starting the year in Pawtuckett. If he starts off well there, we might see him mid-summerish for a spot start or just some big league experience.
  20. Uh,.....um,....wow, just wow.
  21. Get defensive all you want, he still looks like a fruit bat. :harhar:
  22. Fruit Bat gets the save.
  23. Jon was the Game-1 starter for Portland in the first round of the Eastern League Playoffs. He got a no decision in Portland's 5-3 win over Trenton. 7 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 9 K
  24. Andrew Pinckney (sp?) has had a good season at low-A Greenville.
