  1. Three straight, 1-in, corners, Papi up.
  2. Tony G! He's....... http://www.miserablelie.com/turturro/pictures/deeds.jpg very sneaky.
  3. Kappy starts the engine.
  4. Pitcher's best friend, the room service DP. Followed by a routine grounder that strands a leadoff double. How good have the starters been lately? It's like night and day from the first 4 months of the season.
  5. Note to Bronson, Don't walk Koskie for the 3rd time right now.
  6. Anyone going to watch Barry tonight?
  7. Gift from Kappy. Defense is suspect again.
  8. Hill's made 2 outstanding plays at 2nd tonight. But hey, Lilly, a regular thorn in our side, is out, and we got to the BP. Things are lookin' up, the future's so bright.....I gotta wear
  9. Millar keeps it going and sets the table for Trot. Put it out of reach boys.
  10. Just had a feeling. He spanked the ball in both earlier AB's. When he's picking the ball up well off of a pitcher it is just a matter of time.
  11. Told ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Manny hit the ball hard but playable both of his AB's thus far. This one leaves the park. My call.
  13. The postseason is played by the same teams under consideration, so to exclude it from the equation is irrational and naive.
  14. Good AB for him right now. Lilly is working.
  15. KevFC has definitely stepped up at the plate. I hope he can keep it up.
  16. That ball's gotta be flat on one side now. He mashed that bitch.
  17. Bronson looks good tonight, so that's encouraging. Waiter, runs please.
  18. 1 H in 3 IP. If a team ever gets a rotation with Lilly, Paul Byrd, and Rodrigo Lopez, we might as well send the Paw Sox to play them because the MLB club can't hit these guys.
  19. This was his first appearance since the "dead arm" waiting period. He's the future, so they are going to be cautious. If he's healthy and feeling fine, I'm sure we'll see him throw for the big league club before the season ends.
  20. Somebody tell the Sox that. They are getting owned by Ted Lilly......again.
  21. I don't know why they say it, I was just relaying my experience. Perhaps they have an axe to grind.
  22. Kruk managed to add size during the season, just not the kind you want. In my experience, that is completely false. When I was in the Marines we would run 3-5 miles and do 20-30 minutes of callisthenics every morning, then we would go to the pool and swim 1500-2000 meters after lunch, then go to the gym after we got off for the day. I managed to gain significant size and weight during that time despite the calories burned (which I'm sure were substantially larger than playing a baseball game) during our daily routine. It was mentioned on the ESPN broadcast of Friday night's game that ARod has taken Cano under his wing and they spend 1-2 hours in the gym following the game 5 nights a week. If you take that approach and workout hard (and eat enough to support it), then you will gain size and weight during the season. P.S. to ARod2212: Generally, when a person loses a lot of weight, some of the weight gained by working out is consumed by the body. But, yes, any trained muscle retained will gain strength quicker.
  23. I agree with that assessment. Wade Miller, when healthy, could be a really good pitcher at the back end of the rotation next year. I'm slightly upset because him not being on the 60-day DL takes a possible playoff eligibility spot from someone that could help us this year. Here are the pitchers that are playoff eligible: Curt Schilling David Wells Matt Clement Tim Wakefield Bronson Arroyo Jeremy Gonzalez Jonathan Papelbon Chad Bradford Mike Myers Mike Timlin Keith Foulke Matt Mantei - 60 day DL Wade Miller - 15 day DL We can replace Mantei's eligibility with another pitcher (I'm assuming Delcarmen, Hansen, or Harville). I think we can still replace Miller if we upgrade him from the 15-day to the 60-day. He obviously doesn't have it this year, so lets shelve him until next year.
  24. On the 9th, only 3 of the 5 runs Boomer gave up were earned, which further supports your good point.
