Don't take this the wrong way, because its not coming from the Red Sox fan part of me. The Yankees don't seem like a team at all. They have no "charisma guy" that can hold the clubhouse together. It probably stems from the Boss's behavior/grooming mandates. I think it is something that the FO needs to reasses.

"Playoff time" may be a pipe dream if we continue those number against BAL, TOR, and NYY. We play Baltimore 5 more times, Toronto 7, and NYY 6. Plus 6 games against OAK and ANA.

How is it any different than a manager arguing and getting the call reversed? Or a manager giving the plate ump a few comments and then getting a couple of close ones near the corners? These things are part of the game. If the ump was dead certain of the call, he wouldn't have changed it.

Pretty sad night at the plate, and the Baltimore guys haven't even pitched particularly well. I don't know why, but we have been shut down by their staff a few times this year. They have held us to 1-run 4 times and shut us out once.

Two weeks ago I thought Vlad was the most likely to contend for the award, but ARod is running away with it right now. That being said, the next month will weigh most heavily in the voters minds.

This warrants being repeated, in bold type. That was in May when the A's were horrible and the Yankees were riding Tino's inexplicably hot bat during a 16-2 stretch. Haren had a 2.76 era in the month of August, which is head and shoulders above his 4.54 May era. Leiter's was 4.35 in Aug. Leiter will be facing a very patient team at the plate tonight and that doesn't bode well with his 5.96 BB/9 and 1.59 WHIP since joining the Yankees. Does that mean the Yankees have no shot at winning the game? Of course not. But you have to look at the stats objectively to get a true sense of what could happen in tonight's matchup.

Great! Let's hold back resources from the big club so we can have a shot at the Eastern League Championship. While you are at it, why don't you take Sanchez off the shelf (arm soreness) and ruin his arm to get that title? Need some offense? Take Manny and Papi. Anything to succeed in AA! What a joke.

Wake needs to be in the rotation because Mirabelli catches him. If he comes out of the BP they will have to risk Tek catching him, or make a substitution, taking their only backup catcher off the bench. That is not a smart move considering the drop in offensive production going into late innings and the risk of the backup getting hurt with no replacement to finish the game. Also, catchers typically need one bench day through the rotation. It makes more sense to keep Wake in the rotation and give Tek the needed day off when Mirabelli catches him.
