Flames.... WMB with HR #2, line at .407/.429/.815. Reddick has started hitting, line at .308/.419/.500, with 3 XBH (1 HR)...SSS, but like the walks, the missing component to his offensive game. Brentz, line at .441/.472/.765. Lames.... Kalish, Anderson, Salem...not many people of interest to follow in Salem other than Vitek, and he's doing nothing right now, Brandon Jacobs cooled off big time.

This thread title pertains to watching and listening to Red Sox games. What if a new media format becomes available where I can smell Sox games? Will this thread cover that, or should I make a new one? -
This was brought up in the gamethread last night. You can't steal first. Ie, you have to get on to steal, and these guys aren't getting on. Thus, they shouldn't hit 1/2. It sucks when the two guys hitting before your best hitters can't get on with any frequency.

Let's refrain from pseudo-psycho analysis after 11 baseball games. He's taking good cuts, and he's hitting ball with some authority, but it's not finding a hole right now. He's hit a handful of balls really well that unfortunately were right at fielders. He's using the same approach he's always used, and he shouldn't change it.

What does he need to do? If I showed you the replay of this game.....but just showed you how the ball came off the bat, not where it ended up in the field.....you'd think the Sox won by a large margin. Unfortunately, their weaksauce found holes and the Sox hit about 8 at'em balls. That's baseball. They need to address the Matsuzaka rotation spot, and they need to figure out Lackey. The rest will figure itself out.
