    So, this Johnson guy isn't very good. Who would have guessed that?

    I don't think he'd go to any of those places. However, I don't think any of them make nice to let us get him. He doesn't make it out of his division when the waiver rules apply. We aren't getting a good pitcher via the waiver wire. Pray for Boomer's knee and Wake's rib -- they are our best shots at improving the rotation, IMO.

    Mets, Cards, and Dodgers are all in the hunt, and loaded with cash. He doesn't make it out of the NL.

    No way we get Clemens. First, every NL team has rights to claim him before any AL team does. Second, every AL team with a record worse than ours has rights before we do. Too many contenders that could use a good pitcher stand in the way.

    He changed his mechanics to prevent a violent delivery. As soon as the mechanics changed, the velocity went away. Nothing will change the quality of a pitch more than how you deliver it. Velocity isn't about pure strength. You need to be flexible, and you need to utilize efficient motion. It's kind of like a golf swing.

    ESPN reporting Tek's injury as a knee sprain. Better not be serious.

    I agree. He's looked better than I thought he would. His feel for his command shouldn't take long, and once he gets it, he'll be huge. f*** WMP KILLED THAT BALL

    Who knows? Maybe they think they can teach him good mechanics and get his velocity back up without the violent delivery. I haven't read a follow up to the report that he did change them.

    Me too....after a couple of starts. I have far more confidence in Wake too, but he's 3 weeks out. Confidence in Snyder? Not so much.

    What happened to 'Tek? Right as he was heating up too. Luck's been pretty s***** this year. Wells looked ready to contribute before the stinger off the knee. Coco was on fire before he broke his knuckle.

    I think we could have put a package together more appealing than Nady for Oliver Perez. Ditch the new mechanics and let him chuck it for 2 months with your fingers crossed.

    Yeah, I agree he looks OK. The deuce is there, but he's a pitch to contact hitter that uses his control to keep it away from the hot spot. As he works things out, he's going to leave a meatball or two in the wrong spot. WMP pulverizes the ball.

    Yeah, there hasn't been much press or fanfare about the season he's having. Papi's heroics are more dramatic, but Manny is still the better hitter.
