  1. Did someone besmirch the Japanese? You don't want this Japanese badass involved... http://www.icbernareggio.it/ragazzi/pokemon/pikachu.gif
  2. f***ing Beowulf, bitches. Oh yeah, and he pimp slaps the Mongols and Anglos.
  3. Hey, not in front of the kids here.
  4. For real. Shouldn't come as any surprise, though. It seems like half this board will say the Yankees are "done" if they lose 2 straight in April.
  5. POW. Nice AB by Coco to battle back and get something to hit after 0-2.
  6. Take notes, Nuke.
  7. Just don't f*** with a guy who's name ends with the Impaler..... http://www.donlinke.com/images/Vlad/vlad_tepes_big-x01.jpg
  8. Right, because 3.20 ERAs grow on trees in the AL East. There's a whole whopping none of them in this league. This is presupposing that he can even pitch to that level, which is doubtful. If he can pitch to a 3.50 ERA in this league and provide more that 200 innings of that level of performance, it would be insane to keep him in the BP.
  9. Pun of the Year.
  10. Has Mussina said he would sign for less? I can't imagine a guy in contention for the Cy would take less when there is a team option still on the table. He's got the upper hand there. They either pick up the option, or his services hit the market.
  11. Million dollar arm, ten cent head. Hopefully the pasting he has taken this year is a wake up call, and he realizes that good stuff doesn't mean s*** if you can't pitch with it.
  12. I'm off to bed. Hold down the fort, kids.
  13. That was more of a rant for the whole body of work. It is nice to see him throw more deuces. Yeah, he's definitely missing. He has a rare talent of missing right where the hitter likes it.
  14. Ok, Josh, get pissed, but make sure you get a mirror first. f***ing asshat. I actually read an article where he said, "I don't like to study film, I pitch by feel". Well, I FEEL like you are a huge waste of talent. Million dollar arm, ten cent head.
  15. So this Josh Beckett guy, he's pretty much a huge disappointment, and he's getting worse.
  16. One pitch, one rope to the OF.
  17. To Nuke LaLoosh, aka Josh Beckett: Don't be like this guy. Don't be so set in your ways, so stubborn, that it kills you. Don't let your big head be your down fall. Use more of your secondary pitches. Location matters. Middle, middle (even at 100 mph) is a souvenier. http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i155/johny89/sc.jpg
  18. No rules. Whatever strikes you, however, if you like the theme of someone else's mojo, you can add on to it.

    The NL

But they didn't just add Maddux. The got a healthy 3B in Betemit, a productive MIF in Lugo, and brought up Billingsly. The face of the team has changed significantly, and it looks like they got the right mix. The Mets will get the WC winner provided it doesn't come out of the East (unlikely), and I don't see the winner of the central sweeping this team.
  20. Great minds, my friend, great minds. However, I think I just disagreed with you in the Papelbon as closer thread.
  21. It's not hard to look the stats up, and I seriously doubt you watched the games. In three starts he posted 2.25 ERA as a starter. Small sample size for sure, but that's nothing to sneeze at. He walked at a higher rate as a reliever last year, but got better as the playoffs approached. I think he needed to get comfortable, and once he got confident the catcher's mitt started moving less to receive the ball. There's no reason to think he would all of sudden lose control as a starter now. I think a good SP is more valuable than a very good RP, and I think the Sox would be a little remiss if they didn't at least try him out as a SP for a year. Like SITN said, if it doesn't work, he can always go back to the bull pen.
  22. Lots of would, could, should, maybe, and if in that statement. In other words, you use a lot of hypotheticals to explain why someone isn't dominant. Sorry, not buying it. Verlander has been dominant this year, and no speculation about the future will change that.
  23. I'm not ashamed to admit this series has me a bit worried, and it's because of these pitching matchups. Beckett/Robertson: Good lefties give the Sox fits. Hell, even mediocre lefties do -- Hi, Casey Fossum. The Tigers are a pretty good FB hitting team, so Nuke needs to take advantage of their aggressiveness with a good amount of hooks. If he gets FB stubborn, it could be another BP night for him. Schilling/Bonderman: I feel best about this one. Bonderman has given this team fits with his exploding FB and nasty slider combo, but once they see this type of pitcher more than a couple of times, our 3/4 go to town. Schilling is a student of the game, so he knows their tendancies and should take advantage. If he executes, he'll be fine. Wells/Verlander: A pitcher with nasty stuff the Sox have never seen before, need I say more? We should hope his dead arm period still has him missing spots like he did against CWS on Friday. The best bats on the Tigers are righties, so that doesn't bode well for Boomer. That said, he pitches to contact well with his control and if he can get them to chase, he might limit the quality of their contact. Fingers crossed.
  24. Someone refresh me on DFE. The Sox still have rights to sign him after JuCo, or their rights expire at the next amateur draft and he's draft eligible?
  25. I really hope you are joking. Robertson has been much better than Nuke LaLoosh this year because he has been consistent. I like our chances in the Schilling/Bonderman game, but Bonderman gives this team fits. Verlander is much better than Wells. Much.
