  1. Nice to see Dustin get on the right track.
  2. WTF was that slide? Two free outs there.
  3. Sending Crisp probably wasn't needed there. Ponson can give up the big inning, and it would be 1st and 2nd if they hadn't sent him.
  4. Disappointing loss. We dominated the play on the field, but couldn't catch the breaks like they did. Oh well, get 'em tomorrow.
  5. Man on for Papi, warm the closer.

  7. Runs. Now. Win. Simple as that.
  8. Rack 'em up. Good job, JT.
  9. Hunter was struck out on 1-2. Even the Twin's guys were like, "Where was that pitch?" This has been the shittiest year in recent memory from the umps. Just completely inconsistent from game to game and AB to AB.
  10. I disagree. I think he pitched around Kubel with a base open, figuring he would get the DP from Cirillo. He pitched Cirillo fine, but the only problem was Cirillo fouled off about 5 good pitchers' pitches with 2-strikes on him. He wasn't wild to Cirillo, even the balls were borderline. After that it was cheap IF hits. Santana got the pat on the back from Gardenhire. Chased him after 5. Good stuff.
  11. For all the s*** he catches, Tavarez has been solid tonight. A little better luck, like Jeff Cirillo remembering he's Jeff Cirillo, and a little better D and he's unscathed.
  12. Lucky ass Twins catch another break.
  13. Need a big hit here. Bust it open before he can settle in.
  14. These animated umps need to get the boot. They think they are the show, not the game. I can't help but believe that someone who thinks people care about their antics will ensure that they get involved to do their schtick. I think it was 700 last night who said he liked this Twins crew. Blyleven is OK, but the PBP guy is useless.
  15. Restructure a contract? I can't recall a single instance of that happening for a guy staying on the same team in baseball. Football? Happens every day, but I've only seen it done when someone is getting traded in baseball. I suspect the MLBPA would frown upon that, and they are the most powerful player's association union.
  16. If we are just talking about the quality of play, then 700's right, you make that trade every day (assuming it was possible - which I doubt because no-brainers aren't usually true). What has yet to enter the discussion is what salary do you pare to put him on the roster? Like it or not, this team intends to come in right around LT threshold, so in terms of adding elite, established talent, you have to make room somewhere. No Drew? Ok, who plays RF? Crisp is gone? Ok, who plays CF? It's easy to just sit there and say, I don't care what it costs, but that's not reality. If you want to opine what the GM should do, you need to address all the variables of roster construction. Failure to do that is about the same thing as turning off the "fair trade" button in an MLB video game and romping through a season. EDIT: For this team to compete with the "no price is too high" team for elite talent in the FA market, they are going to have to have some players making the minimum. Papelbon, Pedroia, and Lester fit that bill, and make this team stronger in the long-haul.
  17. Maybe not the lead. Looks like they are going to put some more runs on the board here.
  18. He looks like Dirty Sanchez in his MLB player pic.
  19. Loaded with no outs after gifts from the M's and they only get one. Good stuff.
  20. The intangibles made Weaver try for the play at 3B. Intangibly, he couldn't make the play at first because of the calm eyes.
