  1. Yeah, and the guy he's replacing has just started heating up. Sheff's been raking the last week, and when he gets hot it tends to last a while. Another good trade.
  2. Hairston, YAY! I'm loving the Luis Vizcaino era.
  3. Stay angry. http://www.lonestartimes.com/images/Benzion/angry_baby_head.JPG
  4. Wrong. It was Papelbon that got compared to Clemens.
  5. Get angry. Get even. http://brouhaha.blogs.com/brouhaha/images/network1_1.jpg
  6. I haven't seen either one pitch, so I can't, and I don't need to since we have both.
  7. This thread has a pulse now. Brandon is hitting .316/.395/.566 in 76 AB, but more importantly it looks like the power stroke is arriving. He just hit his 5th dinger tonight. Still only 23. Could he be a late bloomer?
  8. Doubtful. It was going to hit the wall and kick into short LF, and Manny was playing it that way.
  9. Schill's curve is looking better each time out, and he's using later into the outing than before. His transition is going better and happening faster than I expected.
  10. Isn't that kind of like predicting an injury, though? Sure, if he stops playing ball for some reason, then Tulowitski has a better shot.
  11. Graley? Oh yeah, and let's not forget, !!!.
  12. I guess they didn't learn much from our experiment in trading away pitching depth pre-season. Can't say they didn't have a shining example to reference.
  13. Well, they'd be throwing the superior member of that group of 3 going forward. The other two won't throw another pitch in the bigs this year. So, with their offense, it's no stretch. In fact, with a rotation of Wang, Mussina, Pettitte, Igawa, and Hughes, they'll go on some good tears when the bats are clicking. As to the numbers, we'll just have to disagree. I think psychology certainly has more than a 5% impact during a streak of games, which typically last less than 2 weeks. If we were talking about the whole season, then I'd agree it's less than 5%. But, in a short window, the head can play bigger role.
  14. You don't think there's a psychological aspect to performance? I do. It's not absolute, but I think it plays a role.
  15. The Rox just got an unasisted triple-play against the Braves in the top of the 7th with a 5-5 tie. Chipper Jones was up, they sent the runners from 1st and 2nd on a full-count, and it was a liner to SS that Tulowitski caught, stepped on the bag, tagged the runner from 1st.
  16. Good bounce back today. Took away whatever momentum yesterday gave them. Chased their "ace" with JT getting a W. He's now 2-2 against the likes of Millwood (meh), Halladay (x2), and Wang. I don't want him to keep getting starts, but I can't shake my head at that.
  17. Lovely. I'm glad the April-Rod era is closing. I missed the regular version.
  18. Wow, that silver lining you are looking for doesn't have much luster, does it?
  19. Hideki Okajima, got it goin' on Hideki Okajima, got it goin' on Hideki Okajima, got it goin' on Hideki Oka- Jima
  20. Cabrera ends the no-no.
  21. JEEMER!! This dude is nails.
