  1. I like runs. Runs are better than not-runs. More runs, please.
  2. Hill looks like a pole-smoker.
  3. I think the Pixie dust has worn off for Jules.
  4. JT pitching moderately well for the first half might be one of the worst things to happen to this club. He just sucks on so many levels. But, since he did OK for a bit, they are going to have give him some time to suck before they move to replace him. Make no mistake, he will go into a period where he just sucks for a while. He's incapable of avoiding it.
  5. That bunt right back to the mound was remarkably similar to Youk's double. I'm surprised Lugo didn't end up on second. Just another example of how much the two are alike.
  6. Can't stand the guy, can you Scaff? Comparing the value of two players when one is 30 runs over replacement and the other is -8 below is kind of silly if you ask me.
  7. But wouldn't you rather be, ye'szir? Come on, admit it.
  8. http://www.talksox.com/forum/general-baseball-talk/9358-2007-all-star-game-thread.html Look at me, I can make a thread! And I'm in AAA! Hooray!
  9. How can you still not get it? You hold the J between your thumb and finger, then Puff-Puff-Give, you Purple lipped freak.
  10. Can somebody who lives up that way kind of find the time to bump into Manny about town and like do something to piss him off. He hits much better when he's requesting a trade at the deadline every year. He sucks when he's happy. Kthnx bye.
  11. Absolutely, opting out of this contract removes Texas from the equation. I don't think anyone has questioned that, which is why I took your comment to apply to the extension discussion, because that is the only way Texas' money is involved. Apologies for the assumption, but I didn't think you were arbitrarily throwing that out there. I think a700 has it right. The Texas money gives them a good amount of leverage and will enable them to go beyond the market in an extension. If it's only about money, he's staying in NY. If anything else is going to impact the decision, he's opting out, IMO.
  12. Buchholz' change and curve are really good. As long as he can spot that FB and keep it down, he'll thrive off his offspeed stuff.
  13. Williams was interviewed from the Futures Game. No NTC, although there is some trade protection there. The extension allows them to go after a big grab of prospects if they are still interested in trading him.
  14. Yeah, De Los Santos was pretty impressive for a kid in A+ facing some more polished hitters.
  15. Upton is going to be a stud.
  16. No, he doesn't look heavy now, but he looks like he once was. A lot of pro athletes that struggle with weight when they are younger do a good job keeping it off in their young 20's for a bit, but it usually finds a way to reappear.
  17. Nice throw by Anderson to get Hu on the K/CS double-play.
  18. I just got in, so it's the top of the 3rd. Joba's pitching for the US team. Given the stories I've read and the looks of him, the name fits. He's got some potential Bartolo-like affinity for the buffet table in him. He's reportedly dropped some weight, but I can see a future of struggles with weight.
  19. How is the 25 IP minimum going to work during All-Star week? I doubt many get to it Thurs-Sun. Is there a commish override?
  20. Actually, right now, there's plenty to discuss. Like last year, there are only two pitchers I feel good about on any given night. The three guys rounding out slots 3-5 are hit or miss, right now, that that will continue if Schilling can't come back and pitch effectively. They are an injury away from the wheels falling off and the bullpen getting abused like last year.
  21. I'm not so confident. Our hitters aren't a dangerous bunch right now. They just aren't making consistent hard contact, and the bats seem slow. It's like they are counting down the outs to the break. No fire, no confidence. I'm starting to get onboard the anti-Magadan bus. Not enough consistent production with the talent he has to work with.
  22. This Tigers crew is making me want to stab my eyeballs out. Granderson should be in the ASG? Get off it.
