In June, despite performing significantly better than the opposition at the plate, it resulted in the same amount of runs, and that got compounded by them not hitting their pyth for that month. In July it's even worse. They destroying the comp in terms of performance, which is realized in the RS/RA, but they are still dogging their pyth. But, yes, you are right. The pyth is what matters looking forward. And since the components of pyth are correlated to rate performance, I'm not worried.

His age isn't relative. Despite his "tools" Hanley played like a tool that year. Right now, at this time, an Buchholz/Ellsbury package is stronger than the Ramirez/Sanchez was at the time. Now, in terms of need, it's not a fit. Pence can do it all. He's their CF, and Ellsbury is not a COF.

Oh, I know what teams ask for, but you don't see it in terms of actual trades made. In other words, while the expected return is high, the market doesn't bear it. The best on that list is Francisco Cordero. He and Kevin Mensch were traded for a two month rental of Carlos Lee. Lee's a very good player, but the rental aspect of the trade severly reduced his value. Certainly below what one would put on a top prospect who the team will control for 6 years.

I'm still awaiting the top prospects involved in those trades.

I think the Jays win tonight. The heart of their order has a strong RHP/LHP split (7 regulars OPS over .900, none do vs. RHP), and Pettitte has been pretty shaky of late. I think he only has 2 QS in his last 8 starts. The only question is which Halladay shows up. If it's the good one, this should be over early. If it's the one we've seen a few times the last couple of months, this should be a barn burner.

Yeah, and ARod could hit s*** late in a game last year and now he has 7 9th inning HRs this year. So, please, remind me why what a different pitcher against a different lineup a year ago has to do with Gabbard's performance tonight? Do you have no internal filter?

The Ray's annoucers seem to think he isn't 100% healthy. I agree. He has really good speed, but not today. He got thrown out at home by Matsui and let that ball get into the gap. He does those two things in his sleep if he's 100%.
