  1. You can criticize him, but be right. The ball Catt hit at him was a hot shot that he just missed, and you see that happen everyday. The other ball Byrd hit wasn't even close. The NESN replay had him shading toward the bag and had to cover a lot of ground to get to where he was.
  2. What's to comment on? Both stats lines are good for a 2B. You were the one saying he'd fall on his face, so if anyone should comment, it should be you. And, I'll take his D at 2B over Loretta.
  3. If Whoopie Goldberg had a dick, she'd be Kenny Lofton.
  4. Everything has eyes this inning.
  5. Jesus Christ he's fast.
  6. Nobody was. I took the comment about it being disappointing to mean it was probably a let down for Jacoby to not really get to take a full cut in his first AB.
  7. Bottom line: More games and neutral site involvement means expanded revenues for baseball, which means more to give to his clients. I can't blame him, because that is his job, but "love" of the world series bit makes me want to vomit.
  8. They can leave 'em loaded every inning as long as they bring home two also.
  9. Go for the throat, Mikey.
  10. Way to pick 'em up, Youk. That was a nice shot.
  11. Very intelligent 3-bagger.
  12. Re: Manny's bat speed. A big component of bat speed is pitch recognition. The bat is going to be slow when it takes longer to know what it is. That, along with him taking some pitches he normally deposits into the bleachers, has me thinking he might just need to get his eyes checked.
  13. Tejeda is going to throw a lot of pitches to get outs tonight.
  14. The 15 days have passed and he's scheduled to come back right after the break. I would imagine any deal is forthcoming, not imminent. That said, there's no fit. Pence is a stud, so they don't need a CF. My thinking is Crisp's resurgence may have sparked interest. The White Sox need a CF and are looking to deal Buehrle. It's a fit for both teams. If Jacoby's ready, can see the Sox giving up Crisp for a 3 month rental of the lefty.
  15. That rule doesn't apply if he is replacing someone going on the DL (Piniero).
  16. If it's just to cover a gap while Crisp mends, then why isn't it Murphy riding the Pawtuckett shuttle? Sure, he just got sent down, but with Piniero going on the DL for Jacoby to come up, it could have been Murphy. And Murphy has done everything he needs to be an injury stop-gap. No this smells like something bigger. I think it's possible that they've come close to terms on a deal for Crisp, and now they are trying out the replacement.
  17. CYA
  18. Please leave one up for Cust.
  19. Another walk.
  20. Swisher just hit a 350 ft foul.
  21. Then a walk. EDIT: On 4 pitches.
  22. The veneer of good that Iguana has been demonstrating will wear off in due time. Back to back.
