  1. You can if he continues to play at a high level in MLB. Just look at Hanley Ramirez. He was scuffling a bit in AA (.720 OPS in his last year), got traded to the Marlins who have no qualms about playing young players, and he was a perrenial MVP candidate. Sometimes something clicks, even if that click only happens at the highest level.
  2. He's got a .998 OPS on the season between AA/AAA, with the higher split in AAA. I don't know where he fits, but they need to find a way if he's this kind of hitter. My guess, he's a future DH/Backup C.
  3. It made perfect sense, which is why are avoiding a direct response.
  4. Not good, Aldredo.
  5. Lavarnway is making a mockery of the IL. 2-3, 2B, HR (AAA #11)....through 7 tonight.
  6. Not really all that puzzling....
  7. Crawford may have loads of talent, but he's got dick between his ears. Pitcher is at 97 pitches, just had to battle and lost to Reddick on a deep pitch count AB, he's thrown less than 60% strikes all night, and he hacks up/in at the 1st pitch.
  8. Guthrie is decidely "meh" as a pitcher. Not awful, but not good enough to be called decent. He'd make the Hall of Good Enough to Stick Around for Awhile.
  9. Can they stop making this suck-biscuit (Guthrie) look like a decent pitcher? It's frustrating that they make this career nobody look like a good pitcher so often.

  11. 3-3, 2B, HR (AAA #10), BB.... through 7
  12. Did you get frickin' second baseman with frickin' lasers attached to his head? [Dr. Evil]
  13. Lavarnway - 7/16 4-4, 2B, HR, BB Dude is raking.
  14. I think it's a certainty that he'll be up in September.
  15. Lavarnway is continuing the superman act. He went 2-4 hitting his 22nd of the year, 8th in AAA, last night, pushing his line in AAA up to .355/.420/.664. Chiang went 3-5 hitting 2 dingers for Portland (nos. 15 & 16), pushing his season line up to .323/.370/.643. What a breakout year for him. He'll need to keep doing this to get serious attention, since he's been a mid-700 OPS guy prior to this year, but he's starting to turn heads.
  16. I can see it now, the "speed at the top" guys will be s***ing themselves if the lineup isn't... Ellsbury Ichiro Crawford Pedroia Gonzo Youk Papi Scutaro Salty
  17. Not really. They'll be fortunate if they get a player like Reddick. They get nothing for him at the end of the year. There's a "no arb" clause in his contract. Boras being Boras.
  18. Plus, a four game suspension for a closer is really like a 2 game suspension (most cases - 3 in extreme cases). For an every day player, a 4 game suspension is a 4 game suspension.
