  1. I've considered it. A postseason appearance is worth substantially more money than Santana's '08 salary. The miserly behavior will be witnessed through them not paying him more with an extension.
  2. Upcoming series? Nice, f***sticks.
  3. Joba? You mean Santana, Liriano, and Mauer for Joba, right?
  4. This is something I think people really fail to consider. With those two and the experience gained by Baker and Garza, backed up by their very good BP, I would consider them early favorites to win the AL Central, and possibly the whole shebang. I think the package to pry Santana away one year early with have to be gangbusters. At a minimum they'll see what they've got, and if it doesn't pan out, trade him to a contender needing a push down the stretch.
  5. The part in bold doesn't match the rest of the post. Put the word "career" in there and it makes sense. In your other posts where you state Pedro's superiority at his peak, that is when "pitcher" should apply, IMO.
  6. They were 4th in the AL in SBs. They ran fine. It was, is, and always will be about the pitching in the postseason. They didn't have it, not from day 1, and not at the end.
  7. After being told emphatically that the Yankees would run away with the division this year, it's apparent they didn't run fast enough, so my plan to fix the Yankees if kind of simple. Buy some running shoes, then get out there and pound the pavement all offseason.
  8. Room service from El Capitan.
  9. Why was VMart even on the bag holding that slug on 1st? Easy DP if he's just near the bag.
  10. Tough call. I'd try and keep him on a series of one year deals. Nothing longer. That way, when the age catches up to him, you aren't on the hook. But, I'd definitely bring him back for another year. And, can you stop pimping your s***** blog? If you want to come and discuss the team, I'm all for it. But, it seems like the only thing you post here is a link to your tripe. You have your own spot on the interweb, want a cookie?
  11. Why? If Sabathia pitches the type of game where he needs to be relieved by a starter, then the Tribe probably won't win this series.

I feel your pain, Kilo. Minus the TO's, the 'Skins pissed it away in the 2nd half against the G-men two weeks ago. I guess Gibbs decided to not let up with the comfy half-time lead after that. They piled on, admittedly with a defensive TD, this week to route the Lionesses 34-3. That's a good defensive showing against a team that can score. Our boys square off next week in your house.
  13. It depends on how you define the best pitcher. Pedro, when he was healthy, was better than them all, ever. Clemens had a better career because you don't have to qualify it with the "healthy" tag. He stayed healthy, so he was good for longer. But he was never close to as good as Pedro was at his peak.
  14. I don't get this decision. They have two very good SPs, but they will only get 3 starts out of them. Sure, both could pitch in game 5, which will happen with Byrd going, but what good is that? Carmona only sees a second game of the series if CC sucks, and that's in the all or nothing game. Makes zero sense. I agree, Kilo. If they are going to punt, they need to punt all the way. I'm not sure I'm sold on the 3 days of rest thing being "good" for a sinkerballer. One of Wang's issues this year was fatigue in games. He held the opposition down fairly well for the first 75 or so pitches, but the OPSA jumped about .150 from 76-100. That fatigue point will only come sooner with less rest. Cleveland needs to try and wait him out early like they did in game one. Where the ump's bottom of the zone is will be crucial to the Tribe keeping pace with what they do to Byrd.
  15. Wow, the wife got home and I put the kids to bed, and it goes from 3-1 to 8-3. Westbrook is as advertised.
  16. Cap'n Clutch with the 2'fer on DPs. Nice.
  17. Victor's bonehead play hurts there. That gap is covered if noone is on 1B, and thus, Matsui doesn't score.
  18. Phat pitch phrom the phranchise there.
  19. HA! Like clockwork.
  20. Trick hammy sighting. How many pitches till he pulls himself? Oh, and kudos to Crunch, he called it.
  21. Trot still owns Blood-n-Guts.
