I love it. You can really see if a pitch is a ball or strike. The further off center you move, the more interpretative the strikezone becomes to the viewer. I've always thought Camden's camera angle was the best.

So what to do with him? I'm not trying to knock his pitching ability because he looks like a good enough pitcher (but no ace), but his bat seems to eclipse his arm. I'm generally of the opinion that you take the everyday player if things are equal, and this doesn't even look equal. Tough to understand what 'Zona is doing here.

Micah Owings can hit. Really well. I was following along on Gameday yesterday when Melvin brought in Owings to PH. He homered to put the D-Backs ahead. In a very small sample size (84 PA), his OPS is 1.044 with 5 HR. While it is a small sample, he can clearly swing the bat. What should the D-Backs do with this guy? He's a good pitcher, and I guess he can contribute just about every game as a PH in the NL, which having a pitcher able to do it is a huge strategic advantage, but at some point you have to wonder about having him play every day. That, of course, brings up another question. Where does he play? Every position on the field is filled with talent right now for the D-Backs. Interesting situation.

MDC keeps spitting the bit every time it's offered. They need to get Hansen back up as soon the 10 days pass and see what they've got there. MDC is looking more and more like a middle of the game reliever, and not an end game option. I will say this in his defense last night. It made absolutely no sense to pitch MDC to Lind. I know JHB posted his power pitcher splits in the game thread, but he's got a pretty strong LH/RH split too, and Oki is just a better pitcher. I think the stronger power pitcher split is negated by the quality of pitchers involved. Oki hadn't thrown since 4/24, so he was well rested. When your usual 8th inning guy hasn't had work in 5 days, give him the ball to start the inning in a 1-run game. I'm pretty sure the intent was to buy an inning's worth of outs from MDC and not pitch Papelbon on consecutive days, but it almost blew up in his face, and luckily, Oki was able to shake off the rust and get the job done after coming in without his full warm-up.

My wife held some jewelry party tonight, so, alas, I had to go watch the game at a bar. I had the same immediate reaction to Lowrie's play at the plate. Personally, I'm not petite, so I would have launched myself full force, elbows out at his breastbone. Not trying to hurt the guy, but if you are going to block it, you are going to earn that out.

You'd think a vet like Rogers would know better than to walk the sacks full after getting two outs with a 3 run lead (and the guy who homered off him ending up at the dish). Luckily, it worked out. -

Does Francona wipe his ass with the stats sheets the FO generates for him pre-game? Ellsbury has some decent success against Halladay. Crisp in the game makes no sense.
