  1. To continue the doctrine of fairness, Cowflop was covered by the local news. And I don't know if you've been to the Trop, but you'd notice him if you sat in the RF bleachers. What gets me is why anyone would knowingly choose the handle JoeMagrane (unless it's Joe himself)? Guy has to be one of the top-5 dunces in a booth. Hawk is annoying as hell, but he will make a good point from time to time, and he'll be consistent in his determination of fair calls from the ump. In other words, Hawk will call a strike a strike even if it's against the White Sox. Magrane has got to be one of the worst homers I've ever heard. He's 100% on the Rays side of a call / issue. It's like he and Staats are wired with electrodes and they get a shock if they support the opposition from the booth.
  2. Timlin? As in, Mike Timlin?
  3. I expect to see the Derek Lowe Face tonight in Philly.
  4. Hey, congrats, that's awesome news.
  5. I'll bet you get all weak kneed and your mascara starts running at the thought of the other "bones" you allow in your body.
  6. Anyone remember this "duo".... http://bp0.blogger.com/_i4DDjPc62mw/Rvc-8OQfP0I/AAAAAAAAAhs/sUuBcBYC_Pc/s400/aceandgary1.jpg Well, here's some Rays' marketing..... http://bp1.blogger.com/_i4DDjPc62mw/RvdBHeQfP4I/AAAAAAAAAiM/DI-Sfdrdb1U/s400/scott.jpghttp://bp1.blogger.com/_i4DDjPc62mw/Rvc_qeQfP2I/AAAAAAAAAh8/6t7fuKadIW8/s400/raymond.jpghttp://bp3.blogger.com/_i4DDjPc62mw/RvdCF-QfP5I/AAAAAAAAAiU/D2Tg1RMiLOA/s400/rocco.jpg Fitting for fans who get dolled up like this ..... http://assets.espn.go.com/photo/2008/0430/pg2_cowbell_kid_200.jpg I guess at the Trop, you leave your balls at the door.
  7. Good, I hope the CornholeKid really thinks this thing is in the bag. Like See Red said, so did Angel fans. The regular season means nothing in October. As I posted in the LDS discussion thread, the Sox were a better team based on run differential than the Angels. What they did to LAA was no upset. They were better than the Rays too. The Sox, on paper, should win this series. Doesn't mean they will, but they should. I certainly hope they do, because this rimjobber will crawl back into the hole he crawled out of and leave this forum alone. His 6 month old bravado has already worn out its welcome.
  8. Not a day goes by where I don't hear some media type proclaim that Boston fans have to be so upset because they are missing out on what Manny is doing LA. Not one. None of them seem to remember that we got somebody back in that deal, and if they do, well they certainly weren't watching the ALDS. Bay was fantastic.
  9. Contemporary usage accepts media as a collective singular.
  10. I'm at work, so no youtube, what's the clip of?
  11. Well, it is the local specialty.
  12. The first has arrived. That took longer than it usually does, but then again, it is the Rays.
  13. Drop the voodoo doll and pins. No, seriously, I'm well aware that he's unlikely to come back. I was merely indicating when he could in terms of eligibility. I will say this, for someone who has examined him, you seem very cavalier about HIPAA.
  14. I agree, Dojji. Bailey should get the call for the ALCS. With Lowell gone and Papi hitting the way he is, added pop is what's needed. He should get the starts at 1B. He should also be removed by the 7th if we have a lead for Kotsay as the defensive replacement. I loved the range on display in foul territory late in the game last night.
  15. No, the 10/5 rights are for when you have at least 10 years of MLB service, and 5 consecutive with your current team. The only way he'll get an NTC is if Boras brokers one into his new deal this offseason. I don't see any team signing up for that. He's certainly helped his stock the last two months, but after his antics to force the team to make a move, I've got to imagine there's reluctance to give him any kind of leverage for his new team.
  16. He'll probably get it, and it's not like he's undeserving. He had a big series.
  17. The Sox pitching staff threw 39 innings, giving up 13 runs. Remove Lester's line, and it's 25 innings and 12 runs (all earned, Lester's was the only UER). Pretty clear to me.
  18. Pretty sure if you lose a player to injury and remove him from the roster in one round, he's not eligible for the roster in the next round. So, for the ALCS, Lowell's out. He'll be eligible for the WS if he's healthy.
  19. It will be in Fenway. My initial feelings are don't make a decision until gameday and the weather is known. If the conditions are right, it's tough not to choose Wake.
  20. I go with Dice in game 1 because he's already on extra rest, but let's not push it into rusty territory. Beckett in game 2 to give him an extra day of rest. Lester in game 3 (and the clincher, game 7, if necessary). Lester can, of course, be used before then on a throw day as needed. EDIT: I was typing this while you posted, Kilo. My thoughts exactly.
  21. Watching the recap, and I don't think Willits can play that into a single. He had to lay out to just come up short of the ball. He didn't touch it and it hopped right into the stands. If doesn't lay out, I don't think he reaches the ball in time to stop it from getting into the stands. If, by chance he does, that ball was in the air for a bit and he's in no position to make a good throw to 2B. I think Bay ends up on 2B regardless.
