  1. yea sure thing you guys will love this matchup as more or less the Red Sox should have in the clubhouse, a certificate of ownership of Jose Conteras. Lifetime in just six games he has a 1-4 record, with really jaw-dropping ERA of 13.50, in the span of just total 21 innings pitched giving up 7 Homeruns! Side note is yesterday's nesn pre-game report that it could be today again with alex cora taking 2nd base, while having Tony G give Bill Mueller the day off at 3rd base, though Bill does have great numbers against Conteras. Jose Contreras vs: Alex Cora, 1 for 5 (.200 avg) Johnny Damon, 4 for 11 (.364 avg) HR, 3 RBIs, 4 Walks, 6 Ks, SB Tony G, 1 for 4 (.250 avg) HR, RBI, K Kevin Millar, 4 for 8 (.500 avg) Double, 2 HRs, 5 RBIs, 3 Walks, 3 Ks Doug Mirabelli, 1 for 5 (.200 avg) RBI, 3 Ks (will serve on the bench today) Bill Mueller, 5 for 11 (.455 avg) Double, HR, 5 RBIs, 2 Walks, K Trot Nixon, 1 for 1 (1.000 avg) RBI, Walk David Ortiz, 2 for 11 (.182 avg) Double, 3 RBIs, 2 Walks, 2 Ks Manny Ramirez, 3 for 10 (.300 avg) Double, HR, 3 RBIs, Walk, 3 Ks Jason Varitek, 1 for 5 (.200 avg) Walk, 2 Ks, 0 for 1 SBs and in what could be Bronson's last start as a Red Sox pitcher, his stats in 3 games opposing the white sox is a 1-1 record with a 5.74 ERA. As it was last night, today wont be any different as Bronson is lethal against baserunners. And only one has tried to steal against him all season, that one being picked off. His stats against white sox is more dominating than contreras is by far with only one batter hitting above .300 against bronson, but ya know ozzie will try to throw some hit and runs, squeez plays, etc. Bronson Arroyo vs: Joe Crede, 0 for 3, Walk, K Jermaine Dye, 0 for 1, Walk, K Carl Everett, 1 for 7 (.143 avg) Willie Harris, 2 for 7 (.286 avg) 2 Ks Paul Konerko, 1 for 5 (.200 avg) HR, 3 RBIs, Walk Timo Perez, 3 for 7 (.429 avg) Double AJ Pierzynski, 0 for 3 Aaron Rowand, 1 for 5 (.200 avg) K Juan Uribe, 1 for 4 (.250 avg) Double, RBI, K
  2. yea that is wrong, id be more comfortable with them giving up like Bronson, Abe Alvarez, Kelly Shoppach, Alan Embree in return for AJ and a couple of prospects
  3. well at least its helping out for the red sox this season
  4. cool stuff, just read on boston.com that Gabe will be coming back to the Red Sox as early as this coming Saturday
  5. I think Schilling should work until mid-August to get his stuff back 100%, right now hes probably at 80% compared to last season
  6. I can see it for next spring. Brown, Leiter, Wright wont even be a memory. Steinbrenner will probably shell out another $200-250 million roster, by signing new starting pitchers and extending contracts.
  7. lets see that 3.86 ERA of his in action and hold down the yanks
  8. see how his stuff is, friday july 29, game 1 against Minnesota Twins at home. where his ERA is better--Im optimistic, because he is known to have great second halfs, and Ive been startin to see something since the win against the Texas Rangers
  9. well just worthy pointing out he was in the national league the first 6 seasons of his career, then moving to a different team and league altogether plus having frayed rotator cuff, sometimes its all just mental
  10. and since Marlins is a National League team, maybe thats where he could get more into a groove since he came from the Astros
  11. ah too bad spokesperson for steroids, flied out with two men on base
  12. very true, i was lookin at alex graman, the replacement for Franklin, haha, last year he pitched in 4 games with an ERA of 19.80
  13. nice yanks are right they got the best pitchers money could buy: kevin brown, sean penn, darrell may, tim redding, and jon leiter
  14. dude you gotta stop really, i was lookin at wrong guy's stats
  15. with darrin erstad up to bat, very cool indeed
  16. just you wait, Red Sox player Hanley Ramirez will get the award when he comes up
  17. with his 8th homerun little bit past the halfway mark of 2005 season, hes heading for 15 or more homeruns in his first season, a candidate of course for rookie of the year
  18. scoreless game as that helped out lower sox's pitchers ERAs of course, most notably Wade Miller lowing jis ERA big difference from 5.01 to 4.57, Timlins dropping ERA miniscule to just 1.49, myers as the second best pitcher of the Sox in ERA is now at 2.41, and with also save #2, Schillings ERA continues to decline from 7.23 to now 6.93, continue to drop to Curt like numbers. Before he came back, it was really high at 8.44, very cool Im optimistic for game 4
  19. arroyo will be a competitor for chicago's baserunners
  20. cmon element, schilling is showing he is back in his form, plus the more innings he pitches, the sooner he will come back to his starter role.
  21. double play, niice stuff, alright wade had lasted 7 full innings and giving up no runs and stranding 7 chicago base runners, not including the 2 pickoffs
  22. thats cool dude, i just got lil confused, realize now you were responding to the thread starter
  23. i was just commenting on that post because yeszir acted as if i was a pre-teen girl blushing over gabe, which is out-right ridiculouse--i had no idea niice stuff, our "Kap" is coming back. I bet once he comes Hyzdu will be demoted to Triple a. A Stern/Kapler duo of backup outfielders is better because Stern has got the speed and Kap has got the power to slug balls
  24. very cool sox now have 3 game edge over O's currently
