  4. ok wow even other worse things, embree in reliefe has pitched two scoreless innings, not even giving up any hits
  5. it will be tougher as don and jerry have pointed out, the umpire is giving a bigger strike zone for batters today--so even if radke is trying to make sox batters reach for ball, no swing will still be called a strike---bottom line really, long ammount of days in between games have hurt clement and bronson, hopefully same wont be for wells tomorrow
  6. arroyo and the defense of the infield are to blame, even um bill mueller
  7. when did sox start taking defense tips from minnesota and kansas city?? and someone needs to remind arroyo how to throw a strike, especially to the second base position
  8. ill just be happy with a game red sox win that is not a save type situation, only one game of the 8 streak was by 4 runs or more good news here Manny returns: Eyesight OK, Ramirez back in Boston lineup August 5, 2005 MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Manny Ramirez was back in Boston's lineup Friday night, his vision deemed good enough for him to play following his outfield collision with Red Sox teammate Edgar Renteria earlier in the week. Boston manager Terry Francona said before the game against Minnesota that Ramirez had his eyesight checked on Thursday. There was still a little blurriness, but everything else was fine. Francona said he planned to watch Ramirez, the major league leader in RBIs, carefully during batting practice. "The doctor said he could see a fly on that wall,'' Francona said in a hallway outside the visiting team clubhouse at the Metrodome. "In other words, he's got unbelievable vision.'' Ramirez collided with Renteria while making a catch in Wednesday night's game against Kansas City and was held out on Thursday. In addition to a red right eye, Ramirez has bruises on his chest and face as well as a bloody nose.
  9. heye dude cmon you know the rockies, where they are in present and the future in standings, it will die down and a deal down the road will be made between these two teams
  10. im thinking at least 2 out of 3, santanna is a threat to anyone mostly when hes up on the mound: pitcher vs batter matchups, Bronson has faced Minnesota two times in his career, and is at a nice 2-0 record with a 3.07 ERA. Radke, last seen during last sunday's tense win that Manny capped off with a walkoff RBI single. In 21 games, he has an 8-6 record with a 5.08 ERA Bronson Arroyo vs: Michael Cuddyer, 1 for 3 (.333 avg) Double, 2 Ks Lew Ford, 1 for 3 (.333 avg) Double Jacque Jones, 1 for 6 (.167 avg) K Matthew LeCroy, 0 for 1 Joe Mauer, 1 for 3 (.333 avg) HR, RBI Justin Morneau, 2 for 6 (.333 avg) 2 Doubles, K Nick Punto, 0 for 3 Mike Redmond, 0 for 1 Luis Rodriguez, 0 for 2 Shannon Stewart, 0 for 7, K Terry Tiffee, 1 for 3 (.333 avg) Triple, RBI Brad Radke vs: Alex Cora, 2 for 6 (.333 avg) Double, K Jose Cruz, 10 for 34 (.294 avg) 2 Doubles, 2 HRs, 6 RBIs, 8 Ks, 0 for 1 SBs Johnny Damon, 13 for 50 (.260 avg) 2 Triples, 3 Walks, 6 Ks, 1 for 3 SBs Tony Graffanino, 3 for 20 (.150 avg) Double, 5 Ks Gabe Kapler, 2 for 12 (.167 avg) Walk, K, SB Kevin Millar, 1 for 8 (.125 avg) RBI, K Doug Mirabelli, 1 for 3 (.333 avg) K Bill Mueller, 1 for 9 (.111 avg) HR, RBI, K David Ortiz, 2 for 8 (.250 avg) 2 HRs, 2 RBIs, Walk, K Manny Ramirez, 24 for 65 (.369 avg) 6 Doubles, Triple, 6 HRs, 20 RBIs, Walk, 15 Ks Edgar Renterria, 0 for 6, 3 Ks Jason Varitek, 5 for 18 (.278 avg) Double, HR, RBI, 2 Walks, K

  12. i know giambi's stats, i just don't respect what his stats could be caused by moreso
  13. um yeah they held back the test results until Raffy did his 3000th hit
  14. ok hot shot, game 4 of the october playoffs is on the line in the 14th inning, who do you choose to come up to bat, fat head giambi or big papi?
  15. ill leave you with one word, steroids
  16. yeeaah ok, Ortiz (119 Hits) with 25 HRs, 88 RBIs, 77 Runs Scored, 1 Stolen Base, striking out 78 times while drawing MLB leading 65 walks Giambi (77 Hits) with 21 HRs, 49 RBIs, 45 Runs Scored, striking out 73 times while drawing 60 walks--Ortiz has been hot since opening day, Giambi just "suddenly" gotten hot on july 4
  17. what makes a plaer also at being a captain, is them being amon the veterans of the clubhouse. Jeter made his debut in 1996 with the Yanks, and Varitek for the Sox had made his major league debut in a Sox uniform #33 back in 1997. Besides that, Sheffield really is a cancer to the clubhouse, he even had blocked a trade deal whining saying he would make it tough on any new team if it indeed went down. I swear Id like to see a T-shirt that says, Have You Taken Your Sheffroids Today?
  18. he did get on base, gettin hit by pitch that is, his OBP % is at 0.77--Gordon Edes said yesterday "yes true players cant lose their job to injury, but as it is with them pushing for first division title since 1995, the Red Sox have to put their loyalty to the side and really see who is the better option to start at second base"
  19. oh my god, wow that is just bad, "bret boone" bad
  20. dude i did know well you were joking thats why i added my own
  21. best football towns belong to Pittsburgh, New England, and Philadelphia
  22. haha what do you mean flaherty hit "another" HR This was really his first hoemrun of the season, i can see that with his paltry .150 batting average, come back to me if this is his first of 14 HRs for august
