  1. Actuallyyyyy, in May and June there are 4 Sox/Yanks series that fall on weeknights. The only 2 series that fall on the wknd nights are the ones in August and September
  2. one scenario is wells being traded back to san diego as boston F.O. have said they will make accomodations like they had done for Payton and others. most likely that would be for bullpen help. with Wade Miller's surgery delaying him to playing pro baseball until June or later. that signals Sox will hesitate to resign him. Bronson Arroyo is a viable option to be trade bait in a 1st baseman deal. Entering an arbitration offseason he'd likely demand a longer contract than just the club option 1 season. So that would leave Schilling Wakefield Papelbon Clement (Sox announcing they asked him to have surgery might have killed any thoughts of a trade) that of course leaves a spot open for them to look through the free agent market of starting pitchers. Their #1 sought after is probably like other teams, AJ Burnett. Who said during the trading deadline in July that Boston is a place he wouldnt mind pitching for, and loves the community and fans that come together for each game of the season as opposed to what its like for the marlins.
  3. Week 7 Picks Friday, October 21 Kansas City Chiefs at Miami Dolphins Sunday, October 23 Detroit Lions at Cleveland Browns Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans New Orleans Saints at St. Louis Rams San Diego Chargers at Philadelphia Eagles Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals San Francisco 49ers at Washington Redskins Dallas Cowboys at Seattle Seahawks Buffalo Bills at Oakland Raiders Tennesse Titans at Arizona Cardinals Baltimore Ravens at Chicago Bears Denver Broncos at New York Giants Monday, October 24 New York Jets at Atlanta Falcons
  4. really? youre kidding! I had no frigging idea those trades had taken place. Did jay payton and ramon vazquez help out in the long haul with this trade of roberts for them? no they didnt. they only contributed as trade bait
  5. yeaaa but all 3 didnt even stay for the whole 2005 season with the Sox.
  6. it sucks that there is no sox/yanks games that fall on the fri-sun period until august
  7. except that for coming into 2005, Bellhorn's option was picked up by the Sox thinking he would have another 17 HR/82 RBI season. They didnt even think Bellhorn would increase his strikeouts (102) and just with 26 RBIs through the first half. Plus also the Sox have a prized 2b prospect in Dustin Pedroia. why would they sign a relatively young player to be at that position when they already have someone waiting in the midst? Yes there is a lot of signings Theo regrets he didnt make as it is with all GMs. But there is also signings he glad he didnt go through with, like how Yankees won the bidding war for Carl Pavano.
  8. ugh im not being bitter. where does it say in my post im bitter about the white sox beating my team?? Astros have been my choice pick to win the NL, and sorry but they have been the team ive been rooting for even before i found out the white sox were going all the way
  9. im not rooting for the astros, not just because of the white sox easily handing us a sweep. Im pulling it for Roger who could be pitching his last games of his career. what better way to end it winning it all? The Astros have also never had a world series win, let alone this is their 1st world series entry in franchise history
  10. ?? well lets see here... um dude, is dave wallace's contract up?? no its not, hence the main reason why sox didnt go looking for new pitching coach. he is still signed through the 2007 season
  11. we care... theyre making history right now, arent they? first time in a world series of 44 year franchise history. even still astros fans have had to wait much time than white sox fans to actually see their team make it to the big games. i'll take the astros pitching over the white sox's any day of the week
  12. how is that odd? dale sveum and grady little will both be on the same team in 2006 dale sveum: third base coach grady little: bench coach
  13. useless thread Orsillo is a great informing and funny announcer. deal with it he's here to stay. if you dont like him so much then turn on the friggin radio
  14. all hail the sveum era is gone!! worst moment of 2005 sox vs yanks at yankee stadium: stupidly sent 2 runners home, who were both easily out. 5 hits in the 6th inning accounted to just 1 run
  15. millwood is nearing a 3 season contract with the Guardians it would be considering not one of our starters this past season had an ERA of under 4
  16. all the more better if this is able to help him get back to what he was in 2003
  17. Brad Lidge has been looking shaky even before last night's torrid ending
  18. side note to week 6: haha marc bulger and the rams are feasting on the colts defense, its 17-0 and the 1st quarter is still going
  19. gotta love his .413 OBP he had with the Rockies as well
  20. dont worry, as indicated in many reports there is a definite possibility that Lester will make his major league debut sometime in July/August. Same time Paps had made his debut.
