  1. soriano is still signed with the texas rangers thru next season. rangers have indicated on several occasions that they require top pitching prospects in return for him, plus anyways we have triple A dustin pedroia possibly getting ready to start at fenway next spring. To the Texas Rangers: thanks but no thanks well according to the boston globe, we should hear shortly after the world series of the resigning of Mike Timlin. Personally I dont feel and see anyway how Mike Timlin will explode into the 7+ ERA Embree had. Wade Miller will not be resigned this coming season, his surgery this offseason will delay his pitching in the majors till june/july. a risk sox should not and will not take, considering also they wont know what they will get (wade miller we saw, or the wade miller of the astros)
  2. Zito like Arroyo will be entering the offseason with a 2006 team option the A's can exercise or decline.
  3. week 7 picks in review teams that won, underlined Friday, October 21 Kansas City Chiefs at Miami Dolphins Sunday, October 23 Detroit Lions at Cleveland Browns Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans New Orleans Saints at St. Louis Rams San Diego Chargers at Philadelphia Eagles Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals San Francisco 49ers at Washington Redskins Dallas Cowboys at Seattle Seahawks Buffalo Bills at Oakland Raiders Tennesse Titans at Arizona Cardinals Baltimore Ravens at Chicago Bears Denver Broncos at New York Giants Monday, October 24 New York Jets at Atlanta Falcons (haha oh man now testaverde "the new savior" has also been sidelined from some time due to an injury, Brooks Bollinger will get the start who did do a good job in the 4th quarter trying to get his team going)
  4. of the 3 you mentioned, Ryan Shealy of the Rockies seems the most likely since (like SchilingisNatural has said) all-star 1st baseman Todd Helton is signed thru 2011, making really not much playing time for Shealy. A deal of (Bronson Arroyo, Abe Alvarez, and another prospect like kelly shoppach or even Wade Miller as he is arbitration eligible) could be dealt for Devil Rays' Aubrey Huff; the Bewers' Lyle Overbay; the Phillies' Ryan Howard; the Diamondbacks' Chad Tracy; and the Rockies' Ryan Shealy.
  5. im rooting fror the astros but at the same time i hope the world series ends asap, im anxious to get this offseason going
  6. sox have their options aplenty at 1st baseman, including possible trade deals with tampa bay to get aubrey huff or with the milwaukee brewers to get lyle overbay. i'll be happy with any of the options listed. all would be upgrades over what millar was in 05, offense and defense
  7. umm haha anyone else watching monday night football? im hoping these espn analysts are eating their words about now, with them saying testaverde will be a savior for the jets. yea savior my ass first 4 Jets posessions Vinny fumbled--Atlanta's following posession led to a touchdown Vinny fumbled again--Atlanta followed with a field goal punt Vinny fumbled... again--recovered by defense for a touchdown
  8. yea but in 3 years sox will already have their farm system caliber pitchers: Papelbon, Lester & Sanchez already in the Sox rotation--so i dont see a big need for starting pitching at that time
  9. noo but in the end, the white sox are able to cash in on umpiring mistakes and fielding errors by the opposing teams. yes paul konerko was able too hit the grand slam because dye was "hit" by the pitch, thus loading the bases for the white sox's best slugger
  10. now thats what i call a damn good rotation. i did hear on WEEI that the Oakland A's is a probability for a Wells trade and Zito (like Bronson) will have an arbitration offseason as the team has a club option on him. hmmm --Oakland A's get Wells, Abe Alvarez and another prospect (i forgot that Wade Miller could also be trade bait since Sox still have the club option on him as well) --Red Sox get Zito, relief pitcher Kiko Calero, and maybe one of their prospects who is in the early stages where can I sign up for that ??!
  11. Brad Lidge has been anything but what he was in the regular season, been looking shaky since pitching against the cards. He has given up 5 ER in 9.1 innings (4.82 ERA). He has also walked 6 in that span. if more gift calls are done in this postseason for the white sox, im sorry but it could start looking fishy
  12. if anybody, the main startin pitcher free agent sox should set their sights on is AJ Burnett who in 4 out of 7 seasons including 2005, has had ERAs of under 3.75 lets say both bronson and wells end up traded 1. Schilling 2. Burnett 3. Papelbon 4. Wakefield 5. Clement
  13. the Danbury Mint has about 5 different models of Fenway Park
  14. dont even start with me on that dude, go talk to ur buddy YanksHater213. such assinine thing to talk about, youd guys get along for sure
  15. huff would be a trade obviously, which sox wouldnt have to shell out that much if the trade is even with both teams
  16. isnt the QB rating a stat as well? just wondering... well yes if you dont throw the ball that much, you will have a good rating. "Big Ben" has completed a total of 61 passes in 6 games, or basically average of just 10 passes a game :what: . the running offense is carrying the team singlehandedly, ben is along for the ride.
  17. Schilling, Wakefield and Clement are all thus far guaranteed to come back to 2006. Bronson Arroyo could be trade bait for a 1st baseman deal, and Sox are looking to accomodate Wells requesting a trade to a team in the west. so it is possible to sign a free agent starting pitcher, with paps getting the other spot of course other news
  18. I just hate seeing these headlines that Roethlisberger is carrying the team, the Pittsburgh running offense is doing so just like last season. He's obviously not up in the ranks of Peyton Manning and Tom Brady just yet. Big ben averages under 200 passing yards a game
  19. very so I see Sox offering him a 1 year contract of $3 to 5 million with a club option to return in 2007 as the backup. If he declines, look for the Twins to push for him as he has been on their radar including the talked about trade deal this past July. One plausible and less expensive option for the Sox F.O. would be for Mueller to be resigned for the 2006 season as the starting 3rd baseman, Youkilis at 1st base. which puts less work and time on Theo so he can focus more on the bullpen and starting pitching situations
  20. yeah the sox trade off the best leadoff hitter in baseball in july who at that time had a 29 hit streak going, how is the logic in that??
  21. if mirabelli didnt do such a better ass job than varitek at catching and working with wakefield, id say trade mirabelli and bring up shoppach as the backup.
  22. youre lucky. i'll take oak and tex easily, but no past 2 years they have played tampa bay on my bday
  23. one rumor im hoping is flat out false on the "hot stove talks" is that there is a rumored Sox/Arizona deal with Sox getting Troy Glaus, involving some big prospects Pros of having Troy Glaus power hitter capavle of 40+ HRs and 100+ RBIs can draw his fair share of walks Cons of having Troy Glaus has had injury-marred seasons full seasons of play will strike out 140 times or more errors are his best friend, 5 seasons of 20 or more errors career .945 fielding percentage
  24. even before friday, chiefs were def my pick. Die Hard fan of Patriots + Dolphins and Patriots are in same division= do the math
