  1. He's nothing but a hothead, a la Maurice Clarett. Not a good P.R. move for any team Look for him to land in the 6th or 7th round, and thats me being generous.
  2. Not really, Seattle still had acquired 2 outfielders this offseason in Lawton and Everett. Im gunning for Boston to look into getting this kid who's sick defensively in center field. As long as a trade doesnt include one of the "untouchable", Im happy. This is who the Cubs got:
  3. ESPN is now reporting a deal is set to be announced Cubs get 2 minor leaguers Orioles get Corey Patterson http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2285777
  4. With Woody Williams, its not so much his contract that irks me. He's too much erratic for me. Petco Park for the Padres is as we know a pitcher's park, and he produced a 4.85 ERA. NL standards thats not that good.
  5. 1/14 4:30 ET............... At Seattle............ -9.5................... Washington 1/14 8:00 ET............... At Denver............ -3.5................... New England 1/15 1:00 ET............... At Indianapolis..... -9.5................... Pittsburgh 1/15 4:30 ET............... At Chicago........... -3.5....................Carolina
  6. We also dont know yet if Wang's inflamed shoulder was a one time thing, or a sign of things to come
  7. No one's discouting Denver as a tough team, we know that they are. Us Patriots fans are just being optimistic that it'll be a close fought out game. The defense has improved a hell lot better, especially against the run. Patriots after the loss ranked at the bottom of the barrel, giving up an average of 130+ yards a game. Since then, they finished the season with the 8th best D against the run, giving up an average of 98 yards. It featured no bruschi, seymour, dillon, givens, and faulk. The Patriots were at their lowest point on both sides of the ball for that game. So no, Im not going into Saturday night thinking it'll be a cake walk. What is evident for New England: one of the best front 7 of the current playoff teams, Tom Brady (look for him to step up over what happened last in Denver); Belichick; most clutch of a kicker; revamped secondary moreso than early in the season (can you said Duane Starks? :what: ). Easier said then done I know, but I got to have the faith in my boys. Its going to be a hell of a pressure-filled game, fingers crossed but I cant wait EDIT: Its been announced that the Patriots are underdogs by 3 1/2
  8. good point, no doubt. But the Padres talks have died down considerably since San Diego now has an abundance of starting pitchers Jake Peavy Chris Young Woody Williams Dewon Brazelton Chan Ho Park Shawn Estes Tim Stauffer The Padres' GM kevin Towers is willing to work with Boston if they take on 40 year old Woody Williams as well. No thanks to that, and Im sure Sox have said the same thing. As for Roberts, I love the guy, but it is possible to point out that 2005 was the best year he has had in his career, especially in amount of HRs, which was 8? Him coming back would really jeopardize the lasting impression in Red Sox Nation's minds. Sure he'd get the biggest standing O at Fenway yet, me alongside them. What if he were to revert back to hitting .260 or lower with 2 or 3 Hrs for the season? We saw what happened when Bellhorn/Foulke/Schilling/Embree flopped in the following season, I dont want to see that happen to him.
  9. Boston Globe Jay Payton would be a perfect fit to slot in center field. Though, he needs to win back Red Sox Nation. He quickly became a fan favorite, but that blowup in Texas had tarnished that.
  10. I can defend my team. Dude, lets just have them play football. The better team will be decided Saturday night. End of story.
  11. The Patriots will be the underdogs to the Denver Broncos as it stands right now. Thats how Brady likes it as, which gets a fire lit under him and his teammates. Last meeting was the 28-20 loss which almost saw them come back and tie it. ---This happened in the first 6 games, defense was at its worst ---No Bruschi, and Seymour to help out the front 7 ---No Dillon, Faulk, and Givens. That had put a hole in the offense. ---Brady is sure to step up from this game. Overthrowing guys left and right, is not his style. ---Belichick loves planning for a team they lost to the first time around
  12. The Saints are sure to have a turn around of a season compared to 2005. Especially if able to acquire Leinart, and if the coach Sherman to Saints rumors are true
  13. opening drive, palmer and now possibly wide receiver henry is down on the ground--Pittsburgh is good against the run, which is probably what the Bengals will start doing moreso since Kitna isnt the same type of long threat than Palmer is known to be. Good to see a rivaled game like this. I didn't really see any trash talk or whatever between the Jags and Pats
  14. Kitna is getting ready, man Palmer's knee looks like it did a 180. Thats gotta be painful, damn
  15. newsday is suggesting that the Yankees could be interested in acquiring Bengie Molina, which would shift Posada to more of a DH role
  16. well still this is a good stat to take notice Pats on 3rd down conversions 7-14, 50% Jags on 3rd down conversions 1-12, 8%
  17. For the Jaguars D---woulda', coulda', shoulda' In football its all about if you are able to capitalize on the other team's follies or mistakes. Something that the Patriots are known for doing. ---------------------- Side note here, this caught me by surprise when I was at rotoworld
  18. Im just going by what the Boston Globe is reporting. Im sure them splitting duties rather than Faulk starting, moreso would give Pats a healtheir running game.
  19. The Astros have signed former D-rays relief pitcher Trever Miller to a 1 season contract with a vesting option for 2007 http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2284697
  20. It is expected that Faulk will be the starting halfback for the rest of the postseason with Dillon getting what the Boston Globe called, Garbage Duty. Faulk did have a better game to say the least, he was like a cannon through the Jag's strong front 7. Faulk 6 rushes for 51 yards 4 catches for 45 yards Dillion 17 rushes for 40 yards 1 catch for 11 yards
  21. um who said anything that adam stern is even being considered for center field? A recent interview with the Co-Gms had said that he would open the season in Pawtucket. Even if he is called up, it would just be really a utility role. Seattle is still a considerable trading prospect. But I dont expect Boston to give into deamnds along the lines of Lester, Papelbon, Hansen, or Marte. Bronson or Clement coupled with a lesser known prospect for Reed, Id be happy with
  22. Boston Herald, interview with co-GMs, Peter Gammons, Theo, among the list of people there http://redsox.bostonherald.com/redSox/view.bg?articleid=120385&format=&page=2
  23. Blue Jays already have 4 outfielders as it is in Catalanotto, Wells, Rios, and Reed. But hey if theyre considering have 5, whatever floats their boat I guess.
  24. Baltimore Sun should learn to get its facts straight, they were only discussin Patterson, not actually close to a deal. Im sure the Sox FO is looking into this, or thats what I hope anyway
  25. That makes the front seven all the more enforcing, cant imagine how it wouldve been with a playoff fueled Bruschi.
