  1. This rumors site has quickly come to an end http://www.freewebs.com/baseballtraderumors/index.htm
  2. Actually Clement's 2nd half tumble started with his first 2 games back from the All Star Break against the Yankees & White Sox. 8.2 innings, 11 hits, 10 ER, 4 HRs, 7 Walks, 9 Ks
  3. Sigh of relief here. He is the man to get a center fielder while holding onto the untouchables at the same time. In Theo we Trust
  4. true about Cora I saw this assinine poll on ESPN "Will the Sox reach the playoffs with Cora as their shortstop?"--58% said no They cant base it just on one player. Pokey Reese in 2004 ended up playing shortstop for the most innings of 2004, and guess you could say we did fine with the little offense he gave shadowed by his gold glove caliber D he performed every chance he got. Cora is sure to give just about the same quality defense, while easily outslugging my boy Pokey who had hit .221 with the Sox.
  5. True if we got Lopez, Pedroia would be out of the shortstop option. Doesnt necesarily mean the Sox wont need him since he's still a viable option to be the opening day 2007 2nd baseman.
  6. Expect to see Ortiz's extension sometime from now to when spring training starts. WEEI reported it will be 3-5 years Tito is also expected to get an extension, since 06 is his contract season
  7. Im more wary of the fact that Griffey has a tough time being healthy.
  8. I have much more respect for Arroyo now. Like Wakefield, he has become captivated and with the Organization, the city of Boston and most importantly us fans. How rare is it this day and age to have players who yearn to stay with the same team for just about their whole careers?
  9. True but Shoppach's role has yet to be determined as well. This spring training we will see Shoppahc, Huckaby and Flaherty contend to see who can catch Wake better.
  10. Red Sox who have made the WBC Roster Dominican Republic David Ortiz Manny Ramirez Puerto Rico Alex Cora USA Mike Timlin Jason Varitek Im actually getting excited to see the WBC, its probably moreso that I havent seen baseball be played since October.
  11. haha he kind of wore out his welcome with us pretty quick His team won for the first time since 1917 (1 year more than ours), and yet he started ragging on us about "1918", and a number of silly tries to bash on us here.
  12. all i have to say is: Damn adding more to the fire Im sorry but what I saw this past wknd has been the same thing in Payton's other playoffs losses. During the regular season, he's calm and collected. When the playoffs come, he's mr. happy feet and has this scared look in his face. And who doesnt love when he throws his arms up in he air after an interception?
  13. Nothing to take away from you "krazee". I do respect your opinion. Its just I dont have that much big love for acquiring Gathright, let alone trying to work with Tampa Bay. I do agree with speed, that valuable asset he does have. But plate patience like taking fair share of walks, something much needed in a leadoff hitter, he does not. His best production rather comes in the #9 hole He bodes a career .271 batting avg & .316 OBP
  14. 1/22 3:00 ET............ At Denver.............-3.5............. Pittsburgh 1/22 6:30 ET............ At Seattle............ -3.5............. Carolina I got the underdogs for the wknd. The AFC game is looking to be like game dominated by defense from both teams, Pitts edge out a win 20-17
  15. Good to see the Patriots FO isnt as slow on getting things done like a certain office on Yawkey way is Good signing, I was hoping for Pepper, but Im sure nonetheless that Pees will do a fine job for 06.
  16. Edmonds will be turning 36 this season and if the Cards arent Devil Rays-like in trade negotiations, yes i wouldnt mind this trade happening. I am guessing it would cost pitching if Boston is actually intent on calling them up about this. **What if secnario** He is former gold glove winner, course has pop in his bat, being a solid stop-gap until Ellisbury is ready. Just a brainstorm, but it would be cool to see him the at the top of the order. IMO he would be a force for opposing pitchers at Fenway with the career .362 batting avg he holds there. 1. Jim Edmonds cf 2. Mark Loretta 2b 3. David Ortiz dh 4. Manny Ramirez lf 5. Trot Nixon rf 6. Jason Varitek c 7. Mike Lowell 3b 8. Alex Cora ss 9. Kevin Youkilis 1b
  17. And the hits keep on coming for this site trying to validate itself.
  18. I think its evident by now that Loretta wont be hitting below Papi and Ortiz. He and Youkilis would be able fill the losses of the previous top 2 of the order, Damon & Renteria Batting 1st Loretta in 137 games- (.298 avg) (.365 OBP) Youkilis, 2 games experience Batting 2nd Loretta in 664 games- (.299 avg) (.361 OBP) Youkilis in 17 games- (.274 avg) (.361 OBP)
  19. As youve probably heard, Referees have come forward that they themselves made questionable calls on plays like Palamalu's interception and the phantom pass inteference call. Here's another one
  20. Good point as there is Hansen and DelCarmen who are both just about major league ready, but I give props to the organization of starting them in Pawtucket to work on their mechanics just a bit more. Other notables being Jermaine Van Buren, James Vermilyea, Edgar Martinez, and Clay Bucholz. The first 3 are likely to be among the minor leaguers to get a September call up.
  21. No offense, I'll have more of an idea who goes where in the AFC East once I know who is the quarterback of the Jets for 06. Pennington is no where near certain.
  22. What a big surprise, it just so happens it fell through!
  23. Troy Brown is still a keeper to the Pats as he's shown he still got life in him, defense and offense side. I hope the Pats hold onto Artrell Hawkins. As he did help strengthen the secondary when coming on board. The one thing about Stephen Neal that irks me, Im sure he was the most penalized offensive lineman with false starts.
  24. Either this guy that runs the site knows what he is talking about, or is really just having fun with everyone. I wrote him an email asking questions about the Reed trade. He replied "it will be announced officially around noon." Im still skeptical and not getting my hopes up.
