  1. Breathe Red Sox Nation, our holes have been filled. All thats left is the potential Wells trade. I am shocked, just 1 year? Again I say, in Theo I trust The Herald also noted this signing is in more accordance to set up Pedroia to later on be their starting shortstop. I wouldnt mind if I were to see Sox extend Loretta's contract by 1 or 2 more seasons to bridge the gap for Lowrie.
  2. Welcome to the site, and have yourself a good time on here By the way, I like the avatar of yours
  3. A player lost in the mix has been 1st base prospect Adrian Gonzalez who was traded from Texas to San Diego, who also has a surplus of players already capable of playing that position. I wouldnt mind getting him in a Wells trade. In the near future could see gonzalez at 1st and youkilis back at 3rd EDIT: I would be perfectly happy with a trade as follows San Diego- David Wells, Josh Bard Boston- Doug Mirabelli, Adrian Gonzalez
  4. of course that wouldnt have to do anything with the fact this kid could be a Red Sox
  5. The fact of the matter is, that Wells is one of the players you dont want unhappy on your team because he WILL make waves.
  6. I agree that unfortunately this could be Trot's 9th & final season with the Sox. Outfielders such as David Murphy, Brandon Moss, Luis Soto, Chris Durbin and prized Jacoby Ellisbury are all viable options that Theo & the Sox will take into consideration for right field in 2007.
  7. This is a cool interview with Coco Crisp. It looks like they had caught him at a sort of batting practice it looks like, good deal lets get the plate patience down. He's now sporting the B on his hat fits him good, http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/mediaplayer/frameset.jsp
  8. Found this for you Calvin As it stands right now for 06 free agents, considering some players mentioned are still likely to be traded or cut David Wells (slight chance he'll stay for 06 and he most likely will retire next offseason) Mike Timlin (This will be his last season in the majors its looking like. So lets hope for a good one, and have a standing O his last game at Fenway this year) Keith Foulke (2007 option) David Ortiz (2007 option) Get it done Theo!! Trot Nixon (With 4 outfielders in the mix rising the ranks and Trot's capabilities declining, 06 could be it for him in Boston ) Mark Loretta Alex Cora Tony Graffanino Rudy Seanez (2007 option) John Flaherty J.T. Snow Ken Huckaby Willie Harris Dustan Mohr David Riske Josh Bard
  9. I never thought of it like that, afterall they currently have 3 catchers on their majors roster. The same thing happened with Mike Myers as well last season. Mirabelli would be a much welcome sight, especially from Wakefield's point of view
  10. I was kind of hoping to see how Belli wouldve done with more playing time. Piazza does have an offensive advantage over Doug. But Doug clearly has the defensive edge. Still overall a good signing by the Pods.
  11. Welcome to the site, Im sure you'll have a good time on here. Likewise with being excited about the season, this is the first time that Ive been comfortable about it. Theo back is a big bonus. I still got the faith
  12. jeez, Peter Gammons recently discussed Bill James' revised handbook that he has been able to scan through. Bill James has Coco just hitting 13 Hrs. Myself, Im looking at the fact that Crisp hit much better on the road than he had done in his own home park (a pitcher's park).
  13. True that our major league pen is stacked, but still can keep Yhency along with Manny & Hansen in Pawtucket for insurance in case somebody goes down or cut/traded. In the end, Im sure Theo will do whats right for the team.
  14. A Wells trade had almost at one time neared completion with the Dodgers for pitching prospect Yhency Brazoban, which resulted to the Sox turning their attention to Julian Tavarez. It was due to the Dodgers worries about lack of qulity setup men in their bullpen. I wonder if this deal could be brought back considering the Dodgers have since acquired Baez and Carter from Tampa.
  15. No worries, I understand how rotoworld can be at times. It seemed like the whole offseason they kept bringing up Willie Harris to the Rockies. As we know he ended up signing with the BoSox under the radar.
  16. San Diego Tribune Good to hear the Sox are holding their ground on not accepting Williams whatsoever. Maybe a couple of quality prospects can be had in this deal
  17. True as that might be, Schil is setting himself up for a better rebound season than they have suggested If I were to come up with a prediction, it would be 170-185 innings, 14 wins, 3.97 ERA, and 165 Ks Call me too optimistic if you will, I respect your opinion. The reports on how he has been doing this offseason has gotten me ready and raring to go to see him pitch
  18. Thanks example, I agree that the offensive numbers do seem plausible (except for Coco who is set to have a better season than they have him down for) But yeah I dont know what they're thinking of projecting Schilling will throw just under 100 innings. It makes it look like the starting staff will be the same as last season, which hardly I believe is the case. Thanks again for the stats.
  19. Exciting time really. I'll be sure to track David Murphy's AAA season because this and other sources have him as the leading candiadte to replace Trot in 07.
  20. example, if you could. I was wondering if possible you could post some of the other predictions they have come up with for our boys?
  21. Cleveland's not done yet. Its looking like Michaels could still end up being a 4th outfielder...
  22. Now thats what I call a good looking jersey The previous recent users of that # have been respectable ballplayers in Kapler and Olerud. Beckett would primed to fill in that same term and hopefully wear that jersey for quite some time
  23. Though Crisp is a first pitch type of player, Im surprised by this stat that he doesnt strike out a lot really. This past season he had just 81 Ks in 145 games played. An average of a strikeout every 7th/8th at bat.
  24. All indications are that it will be announced shortly. According to WEEI, the Sox will announce such signing after they hold a press conference welcoming the newest additions. I cant wait to see that, Beckett said in a recent interview that he's leaning towards the #19
  25. Is that Mienky's first game back at Fenway? If so I got to put that on my wish list. A standing ovation will be coming his way, I'll be shocked if there are boos.
