  1. Im not wishing, Lowell yes he had a piss-poor season but look at the seasons before the drop-off, pales in comparison. I thought Giambi wouldnt bounce back for a comeback season but yankee fans had proved me wrong and I accept that. --Lowell is moving to more of a offesnive lineup that the Marlins recently had --Fenway Park, he hit 36 doubles while hitting just .234 and playing in the biggest pitcher's park. How can this not point to him having the same ammount or even exceeding 40 doubles. --Mueller is my boy but Lowell has edged him out for defense creds. Gold Glover in 05 adds to what should be the best infield defense of at least the division on paper
  2. god i cant wait for the season to actually start, enough of this ******** "those players are gonna fail for you, yada yada yada"
  3. Lenny DiNardo is primed to be the primary lefty reliever in the pen, whose duties will mainly be long relief/spot starter. As for who to get lefties out, Tito will be calling on Riske and Seanez to man that duty.
  4. Rent didn't carry his weight, or at least not for the size of his contract... Ditto, How could the Sox replace the worst shortstop of 2005 with the 3rd ranked best shortstop?!! Damn it all Theo. Top it off, prized prospect Dustin Pedroia is set to take over in 07 or even sooner.
  5. As it stands right now, Cleveland almost shut down a deal of getting Marte just because of concerns over Mota, Sox have to throw in insurance in case he goes on the DL. Thats pretty big, and puts a question mark over his head for the entire 2006 season.
  6. The Red Sox have since reported that DelCarmen won't be sent to the Guardians, this of course also rules out the PTBNL thing. The player would primed to be a mid-level prospect. It can also be otherwise cash considerations.
  7. I still hold my stance that you guys have never had to lose a handful of players that became stablemates in yankees fans' lore that went to the other side. As 26 to 6 mentioned, there was 1 recently in David Wells. Oh thats right he was thrown under the bus at yankee stadium last season's opening day
  8. Anyone check out the newest picture of him thats being shown on Dirtdogs. Couple of things that made me laugh (1) This company thats sponsoring him or whatever, NUMA, has given him as a f***ing gift... a brand new ferrari, yeah like he cant but that himself. No its just handed to him (2) Blonde hairlights?? Are you kidding me Johnny
  9. beat me to it "keepthefaith", the farm is far from being dried up
  10. Gordon Edes did suggest that Paps is plan B if Foulke were to act like 2005. Id want him in the rotation of course, but this kid was steel through the september stretch as the main setup man (ranked the best in the league), and threw 4 scoreless innings in the playoffs. Best game of his in relief would have to be the extra innings win in Toronto.
  11. Wasnt Seibel a former Red sox farmhand?
  12. i did get a kick out of this yankee writer, who wrote the predictions, on the lighter side of things
  13. Pros of giving up Matt Clement, Cora opens more of a possible spot for our boy Papelbon exit of Cora could mean a better chance of Tony G staying on board plus this would give the Sox the right fielder for 07 to replace Trot i'll wait until there is a link.
  14. The Sox have 4 "setup men" in Timlin, Tavarez, Riske and Seanez. Your guess is as good as mine how it will be configured for opening day, ah just 2 months away now.
  15. this is my stance on his BA until I see how he does this year at yankee stadium compared to his career stats he currently holds. Other than that, I still gave him a respectable projection.
  16. Wasnt that the Yankee that Manny was seen having drinks with during the week of the 03 ALCS?
  17. I didnt expect Enrique Wilson, but Id still take Willie Harris over him
  18. Good points, bonus of Riske that he held righties to a .204 avg, and lefties to just a .213 avg. He loves to challenge hitters, an aspect I like to have in any pitcher.
  19. I think he was talking to TheRivernator A rosenthal groupie realtes to people who buy every word that Foxsports writer Ken Rosenthal speaks. The articles ive seen by him about the red sox have always been negative
  20. i think i realize that. EDIT One thing to take notice is that if Lee were traded to another team, there could be a chance of that team wanting to lock him down on an extension. We'll see what happens.
  21. My projection for Damon .289 batting avg, .365 OBP--15 Hrs, 80 RBIs, 115 Runs scored, 18 SBs
  22. Of course they dont have his type of power since they are still prospects. Anyways I recently read that Lee could be traded during the season for pitching if needs be. Yes he would be an asset to have, I would hope his transition would be quick considering he's never played right field before
  23. Damon, I repeat, Damon will not have a .300 avg. Fenway Park helped his stats so very much.--100 Runs of course is a given with the best lineup on paper in baseball His stats at Yankee Stadium prove that against great and piss poor pinstriped pitchers 66 games (.250 avg) (.302 OBP)
  24. and... in 2005 he wasnt given the title as 1st baseman or even spent that much time at all up in the majors due to the sox's re-hashing of the worst bullpen in the league of 05. So no merit comparing him at that time to other 1st baseman. Those werent his 05 numbers, it's his career stats that is still not much experience to prove your point. He hit .278 with a .400 OBP Lets just have him play ball to prove someone wrong.
  25. as there is a lot of questions for the yankees and other teams
