  1. aj burnett meet Manny f***ing ramirez!!!!
  2. yea and the sox just struggled on their 1st road trip
  3. eh, Wakefield has been his old self really. I'll take 3 Runs (2 ER) in 8 innings from him any day. The main problem is run support. Since Texas, in 3 starts he has given up 6 Runs (4 ER) in 23 innings (1 complete game). Ive got no beef with him as he has been pitching good.
  4. David Wells has indicated he might consider retiring during the season if there's no improvement to his knees. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/2006/04/harris_in_the_h_1.html
  5. well it didnt help any that it seems that the Sox's bats are left in the dugout when Wakefield starts. 5 total runs of support in his first 4 starts.
  6. sox bats continue to be silent for wakefield
  7. how do you propose then for Wily Mo to get ABs? He cant be sent down because there are no options left food for thought Nixon against lefties in 2005 (.222 avg) Wily Mo against lefties in 2005 (.291 avg)
  8. Sweet pitcher's matchup: Kazmir is an ace against the Sox, Wakefield is an ace against the Devil Rays. Hopefully it comes out in our favor. 1. Carl Crawford, LF 2. Jorge Cantu, 2B 3. Travis Lee, 1B 4. Jonny Gomes, DH 5. Russell Branyan, RF 6. Ty Wigginton, 3B 7. Toby Hall, C 8. Tomas Perez, SS 9. Joey Gathright, CF
  9. That he is, 49 stolen bases in 61 chances. For defense, he has a .987 fielding %. Willie Harris had a clause in his contract that he could opt out if he wasnt called up by late April. Its been said that the Sox FO really likes what he brings, they bit the bullet and called him up not to lose him. In the end, this will be good for Stern who could possibly get a 400-500 AB season
  10. thanks again for the happy b-day wishes, forgot to say so yesterday
  11. Since his 17 days are over & Sox want to see him get everyday playing time, Stern is being sent down to Pawtucket. Outfielder/infielder speedy Willie Harris will more than likely get the call-up. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060419&content_id=1408879&vkey=news_bos&fext=.jsp&c_id=bos
  12. then how come the d-rays beat up on NY last year? :dunno: ------------------------------- ------------------------------- Anyways... I do believe Schilling is off to a 4-0 start with a 1.61 ERA. Next start comes against the good hitting Cleveland Guardians at Jacobs Field
  13. sure thing, I had went to the May 9th game last year. Good win against the A's, 13-5. It featured Kevin Millar's first HR of the season. 2004 was an 8-4 loss against the Royals
  14. yea, 2004 on my bday was a good game as I watched Gabe Kapler get a walkoff hit. Last year against the Blue Jays was a loss, the last 1-run game at Fenway Park that the Sox have lost.
  15. cmon boys, show me a good win on my birthday. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
  16. I heard on WEEI that the Sox still want to send Stern down to Pawtucket, that being because it would give him everyday playing time. Also because they really like spring training invitee Willie Harris, who has a clause in his contract that states he can be granted permission to leave the team if he's not called up. Willie, from the White Sox, can play infield/outfield positions and has Dave Roberts like speed. A call up/send down could take place tomorrow.
  17. someone check Tito's meds "Timlin out there uncharacteristically lets an inherited runner score with back to back doubles"
  18. again I happily chant Yoooooouuuk He's really having a great start
  19. last year's quote Manny's back, and he's back big!!!!!
  20. as expected Clement is cruising against the D-Rays. Take caution: his next 2 scheduled starts are against Toronto
  21. yea its a good first thread. Just place some bold on the title/headline, and all set really ----------------------------------------------------------------- The return of old friend Casey Fossum, he actually had decent stats against Boston last season. Here's hoping Clement keeps up his success against Tampa, and Manny connects for his first HR swing. Go Sox!!
