  1. Chacon is so lucky the wind is blowing in tonight, he wouldve easily given up their lead by now
  2. yea as he said the "masses" of Sox fans are getting on Coco. What a joke, its from Dirt Dogs. Thats why we here have posted and made up threads just bashing Coco.. Wait a second, we havent. Throw this thread in trash because thats where it belongs
  3. You read way too much into how I used "clown". Clown as in not referring to his career stats, it's that persona he gives off to not just sox fans. His playoff stats are skewed. Since Game 4 against the Sox to game 5 against the Angels, his avg is below .200. Heck he didnt even hav an RBI in last year's playoffs, I still have flashbacks of him just grounding into a double play in the 9th inning of game 5 as they were trying to make a comeback. And what does this pertain to?
  4. I found this funny in last night's thread Key word is eventual. Papi's heroics come when the game is really on the line, he is teh definition of clutch. He's still a clown to me, the "Peyton Manning" of baseball is what he reminds me of. Arod piles up the stats in the regular season, then rests his bat on his shoulder in the curcial moments of the playoffs.
  5. The bottom of the order was lacking last night, 5-9 was just 1 for 19. That 1 hit coming from Lowell's HR. I was sure that Tito wouldve gone with Mirabelli over Varitek. vs Mussina Mirabelli- 4 for 11, 2 HRs Varitek- 5 for 47, all singles
  6. Now tonight's a matchup of aces. As far as I'm concerned, so far Mussina has been the ace of the staff this season. RJ has been a #5 guy who gets Wins because of the big run support. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On WEEI, Terry said that Willie Harris will get the start over Wily Mo in tonight's game. Only reason I think is because Harris has had success against Mussina.
  7. In essence we got Coco Crisp for Renteria. The Sox knew fairly well that the Guardians coveted Andy Marte, hence the key cog to get Coco in the Red Sox uni. You have to take the good with the bad really.
  8. Foulke in an 8-run game? This should be Seanez, Tavarez or call-up Mike Holtz --The relievers that aren't used to bridge the gap to Papelbon
  9. He's also scored 3 Runs, the same player who took 20 games to score his 1st run. But yes what a shot to the left field grand stand seats!!
  10. Yankee fans booing one of their own? Never
  11. Just heard on the radio: Ortiz & Pujols, 2 of the best hitters in baseball rank among the lowest in being hit for the past several seasons. Opposing teams fear & respect them at the same time
  12. Happy Birthday Youk I heard Giambi on the radio say that he has a bet going with his teammates of Beckett vs Johnson: Who scowls first? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  13. Im confused as well... First of all, why would we trade Pena? With obvious help of Papa Jack, Manny & Ortiz, he has been getting better each game that we see him in. Theo has indicated that he sees Wily Mo is the eventual successor in right field. Hence this is Trot's contract year. He might be signed back but in a reduced role of playing time to give way for Wily. Oakland has what like 5 outfielders as it is? Swisher, Kotsay, anbd Bradley are their starting outfielders for the forseeable future. Outfielders arent what they are really looking for. I'm not a Zito guy, what a surprise a Yankee fan wants us to get him. His ridiculous high ERA and bad luck against NY wouldnt have anything to do with it IMO its looking like right now that Zito will be on the other side of the rivalry next year. Johnny Damon has already come out saying he's petioning for Zito to be in pinstripes.
  14. per WEEI Manny DelCarmen sent down to Pawtucket, tomorrow they will announce who will take his roster spot. ----------------- EDIT: Speculations are that it could be Jermaine Van Buren, or lefty specialist Mike Holtz.
  15. They slow down once they get to our team. Im sorry for not wording it right
  16. The Red Sox are a speed bump to the Orioles, as the Blue Jays have been for us
  17. NESN's DON & Jerry are going with Mr. Double, it fits him
  18. oh boy here comes a "struggling Ortiz" thread. Please he had his ups and downs in 2005 as well, but he did alright. IMO last April he just had a .250 avg. I dont see cause for concern as Riv is trying to pump into us. A-Rod is batting .260, but are you worrying?
  19. There's no slump he's in, the only slump bothering him has been the run support. Mirabelli back is also a big lift to avoid entourage of passed balls. As much as I stood behind Bard, having Mirabelli back is key for Wake this season. His 1-4 record is skewed when you see his 3.89 ERA and .221 opposing batting avg since doomsday in Texas (5 starts) 15 Runs (10 ER) in 35.2 innings
  20. Here's hoping that Wake's knuckle is dancing, and he gets the run support the Sox starters have been getting this homestand from a surging Sox offense. This homestand the Sox are batting a robust .367 avg with RISP, uptick from .232 avg in the month of April. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  21. hey guys, sorry about not putting up the batter vs pitcher matchups as I went out for another Sox game, what a game it is. --Schilling continues to doubt the naysayers into the month of May. Not his best start, but got out of the jams to keep his team in the game. Ace --Our offense is back to the days of yore, especially with RISP. A++++ to recent surge in that situational hitting dept. --Lowell... lets just call him Mr. Double. We were giving him a standing O numerous times. His "power slide", oh yeah its just killing us -- 14 - 17 HRs, 40+ Doubles and 85+ RBIs is my estimated season tally --Yoouk, continues to tear it up --Time stopped at Fenway as Gonzalez got a clutch 2 out RBI double --Wily Mo is flashing the leather --Paps, enough said about him. First 2 outs on 2 pitches Just think how better our team will be once Coco comes back.
  22. Eric Wilbur of the Boston Globe says it best
  23. eh Seanez has been the vain of the bullpen. He was put in a tied game against Seattle, Everett tied it up with a 2-run HR. The Sox were still able to win that one. He relieved Foulke in an extra innings game and took just 2 pitches to serve up the game winning game. A close one against Tampa Bay had him give up a 2-Run HR to Crawford which was the difference as the Sox tried to come back late in the game. He's been serving up HRs like candy and him pitching regularly in Fenway isnt going to help matters. Last couple of years he gave up 7 total HRs in 106.1 innings. This season he's given up in 4 in just 10.1 innings Seanez- 11 Runs in 10.1 innings-- 4 HRs-- .318 batting avg against Tavarez- 7 Runs (6 ER) in 9.1 innings-- 3 HRs-- .306 batting avg against So yes, Seanez needs to be the first one out of here. Make it happen Theo
