  1. Couple of notes from Nesn Mike Piazza has a sprained shoulder, out for at least 4-6 weeks No love for Langerhans, he's traded to the Washington Nationals for outfielder Chris Snelling
  2. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com
  3. Okajima has worked 10 out of the last 15 games, damn, any chance Tito gives him the night off if they have a slim lead again?
  4. Yesss, Sox able to bounce back. 17-9 Beckett is our ace this year, first pitcher in baseball to 6 wins!! He is now 6-0 with a 2.72 ERA, 35 Ks in 39.2 innings. He is the first Sox pitcher to win his first 6 starts since Roger in 1991. Up next, the Blue Jays in the Rogers Centre The Coco Crisp from Cleveland is starting to emerge
  5. Lets make it 13 men left on base tonight
  6. Huh... Kyle Snyder is warming in the pen. Im happy that Paps gets the night off, just didnt expect to see Snyder get the opportunity
  7. Phew inning over. 20 pitch inning for Okajima, 37 pitches over his last 2 nights. Tito he needs time off Now who does the save if needed? Paps who just looked tired last night early on and had to throw 35 pitches in 1 inning?
  8. Considering Okajima wouldve been next in line to get the save, I can only think that Tito might be trotting out Paps in the 9th
  9. Just remembered, kept fogetting to pass along the info but... Sean MacAdams said on eei that the Sox might call their buddies the Padres for setup help, if no one else emerges like Okajima has. The much rumored name of Scott Linebrink could be had for outfield help (Brandon Moss, David Murphy, even Wily Mo)
  10. 4 years/$40 million well spent, and you still "have" him for 2008
  11. And Beckett's tired. Gordon, I mean, Okajima is warning up in the pen
  12. Paps warming up in the pen, I really hope he is given the night off
  13. A's are lucky its just a 1 run lead
  14. Ok Im lost to why majority on here are acting like I dont think he's going to be a good pitcher And no he isnt the second coming of Koufax, he had a career 2.76 ERA. Thats a very lofty expectation to throw out
  15. Jerry's probably onto something. Through the first 4 innings Beckett was dealing. Right off the bat in the 5th inning he had to pitch from the stretch, which was the first time he did that tonight. Last 2 innings he's given up 3 runs off of 7 Hits. Still pitching solid hopefully Sox can score off of the A's bullpen. A loss would be a bad tatse after what happened last night
  16. Drew Sucks!! He's in a slump so I hate him!! Just pointing out where he's out right now. I wasnt about to start complaining about his 5 year contract. Ive been watching baseball for 20 years now, I realize players go through slumps.
  17. Great now we have Drew on a slump, 1 for his last 22
  18. Lester just lasted 3 innings, throwing 63 pitches. NESN will update why he didnt last longer
  19. Where was I harping on Lester? I just said as of right now this is his ceiling, like what he has shown in the majors thus far along with his fight back to regain his mentality/stamina. I think this kid will be a good pitcher. Time will tell how he fares
  20. Disgusting. Sox get Ortiz & Manny to 2nd & 3rd with 1 out. Drew and Lowell both strike out on breaking balls outside of the zone
