  1. Drew has the funkiest strikeout swing
  2. As of right now, thats his ceiling. Thats not selling his talent short, any team would love to get ahold of Lee on their team. If somehow he finds himself to pitch in the majors the way he did in the minors, then soxprospects.com comparison of Andy Pettitte comes into light
  3. Heading into this season Id say he has #3 pitcher type stuff, as I said his ceiling is Cliff Lee
  4. Hideki Okajima was named the AL Rookie of the Month Josh Beckett finished behind Johan Santana for best AL pitcher of the month. Johan in 6 starts was 3-2 with a 3.60 ERA, 45 Ks in 40 innings
  5. The more I think about it "Example", I like the idea about Coco as the team's 4th OF when Ellsbury someday takes over
  6. http://redsox.bostonherald.com/redSox/view.bg?articleid=198028 The Red Sox have decided against calling up Lester early, stating they want to build up his stamina. Tito says Tavarez is holding his own as a 5th starter. Meanwhile Tavarez gives the team some good "promo". An article in today's herald has him proclaiming the Sox dont need Clemens because they already have some good young pitchers in Kason Gabbard and Jon Lester. He actually goes on to say that Lester is comparable to Sandy Koufax
  7. Whoa lets hold off on giving the Cy Young & Rookie of the Year to Hughes. Like Kilio said he'll be out for a month or moth and a half. Cy Young will probably go to Johan Santanna. No starting pitcher in the AL is above him in my book. Now youre going to call me a Sox homer, maybe indeed I am, but the leading candidate for ROY is Matsuzaka. He'll have his bumps of course going through the AL but still is estmiated to finish with 15-18 wins, 3.75-4.15 ERA, 200+ innings isnt out of the question, 225 +/- Ks. Right now his only competitor for that is the D-Rays Delmon Young EDIT: If anyone needs to be fired or questioned, its the Yankees training/medical staff. Yet another hamstring injury, I heard on the radio that they had stopped the pitchers doing sprints in preparation for their games
  8. Paps at 34 pitches, should he really be sent out tomorrow?
  9. Thought that was almost out. Still a lot of games left, unfortunately Paps didnt have his best stuff tonight. He better not be back out there tomorrow Still a lot of games left, there will be games like these. No hope is lost whatsoever
  10. Lets see what the 3-4-5 can do against the lights out closer Huston Street. Against Boston he has thrown 8.2 scoreless innings, allowing just 3 Hits
  11. The injury bug bites again?
  12. Prediction, if Sox do end up losing: Gom will go back to posting in his "Red Sox will finish 3rd" thread. Jacko will enter the pre-celebration while at the same time gloating at Gom that he was right about Hughes
  13. wtf?? Haha um Alex Cora is being intentionally walked
  14. JC Romero is the backup to Papelbon? Tito must really have it in for Donnelly, he should be the next one up
  15. Okajima at 17 pitches, Paps racking up the pitch count, neither should be used tomorrow
  16. Paps stuff has been eh this inning. Kept missing locations Varitek was asking for, another pitcher thats needed rest
  17. As much as I love Okajima pitching the 8th, I dont want him to become the next Tom Gordon (overworked by the end of the season). He has been worked a lot these past couple of weeks
  18. Dusty has ripped couple of balls, but right at these sure handed A's fielders. A platoon is likely to continue with Cora. Although being stuck in a platoon might harpen him trying to break in what he is capable of doing.
