  1. No doubt Wake would deserve it at pace he's at. Do have to agree with 700, when they select pitchers... of course good ERA is a given, but Ws and Ks are the 2 biggest factors
  2. Watching tonights Yankees game. I had no idea Phillip Hughes grew up as a die-hard Sox fan. His favorite pitchers are Roger, Pedro, and Wakefield. Just saying (so calm down Jacko ), wonder if theres any times he looks down at his Yankees jersey and says to himself "Huh, isnt this ironic?"
  3. Ok Ive been wrong about these two thus far. Theyve been dealing in their first starts
  4. True, I thought 700 was referring to starting players (such as positional players). But yes def Schilling who was traded for an "ok" Orioles reliever in 86. The list goes on of drafted Sox players who have success starting for other teams
  5. And thats just players that have started for the Red Sox, oh you missed Mo Vaughn. How about these traded away: David Eckstein, Adam Everett, Freddy Sanchez, Hanley Ramirez, Jeff Bagwell
  6. Yep the Red Sox will never draft a player capable of starting for a major league team
  7. http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/draft/news/263865.html Great news to hear. Starting this year the MLB draft will be televised live for the first time ever. June 7 from 2-6pm at the Disney Sports Complex
  8. Bowden on baseball america's prospect hot sheet
  9. Hey youre the one who's acting like the front office is driving the team into the ground... because they couldnt pay 20 million for 4 months from a 45 year Roger Clemens. One who couldnt last 5 or 6 innings. Its foolish to think he'll get by easily in the tough hitting AL East
  10. Psst, Clemens last season in the AL... 2003 stats vs Boston 5 games (2-3, 8.67 ERA) 27 innings, 38 Hits, 29 Runs (26 ER), 5 HRs, 9 Walks, 24 Ks Last year he was a 5/6 inning pitcher in the NL Central. Meanwhile you and Yankee fans are acting like he's going to be riding on a white horse with a sub 3.5 ERA EDIT: Thank you, glad some know sarcasm when they see it
  11. I find the humor that he's trying to translate from Japan ball to American ball and he just has the talent to be a 5th starter
  12. Dont worry, Vizcaino will do his share of work & Proctor's work the next 4 games
  13. Jesus, shes acting like theyve just won the world series in a dramatic walkoff. The most dramatic thing youve ever seen? You really need to get out more lady
  14. This is too f***ing priceless Until Clemens first start, this is the rotation: Wang Pettitte Mussina Rasner DeSalvo
  15. Matsuzaka will pitch more innings, get more Ws, and rack up more Ks. He'll eventually settle with an ERA around 4, the same Clemens will probably have
  16. Woe is Boston!! Now the Sox have no chance of making the playoffs Goodbye 1st place once Roger returns, we should just start packing it in now
  17. Um whose to say they knew what the Yankees' offer was? Stick this in your pipe and smoke it. Its Schilling 10 times out of 10 I'll take out ther in game 7. His post season stats are out of this world. Yes the Sox will finish in 3rd place somehow. That top rotation is all a mirage. Schilling will get hurt, Wakefield will get hurt, Beckett will rever to 5+ ERA and homerun king, ditto for Matsuzaka, and 5th starter spot will be carousel of Kyle Snyders. Also disregard the s***** bullpen (2nd best ERA when its 7th inning or later)
  18. Yep the Yankees always get a return on their investment. How about some recent transactions? Farnsworth has been a lights out 8th inning reliever after signing that 3 year/$18 million contract After the worst choke in playoff history, the Yankees "rebounded" by signing Carl Pavano (4 years/$40 million) & Jaret Wright (3 years/$21 million). Hmm for those combined 7 years/$61 million Keep dreaming that Matsuzaka will be a bust, he's no Kei Igawa 5 years/$46 million. A guy making that much money will go to the bullpen or even demoted to Triple A 86 years, 1918, uh Jeff Bagwell, dee dee dee
  19. Joe Morgan is acting like it is a race thing, about Barry Bonds "That poll on ABC hits it clearly on the mark" "I find it funny that Hank Aaron today is being embraced"
  20. How will the bullpen be by July?
  21. Updated predictions Phillips only said this has saved Torre's job for now Orel Hersheier (spelling?) said 12 Wins, era around 4 John Kruk... he said even with the addition of Roger, the Yankees wont make the playoffs. His main reason being that bullpen
  22. Alrighty, per Baseball Tonight An ERA under 3 in the AL East?
