  1. The Yankees offense I dont think will be as big as what it was this past season. Curtis Granderson will love the left field porch, its just the vs left hander splits stand out.
  2. The contract he signed had dual options for a 2nd year. The team declined Varitek's $5 million option. But then he activated his $3 million player option
  3. 27 HRs/81 RBIs from June 1 to end of the season
  4. Alright, stat guru... Give us your projection of what each player (1-9) will do this season 1. Ellsbury lf 2. Pedroia 2b 3. Martinez c 4. Youkilis 1b 5. Ortiz dh 6. Beltre 3b 7. Drew rf 8. Cameron cf 9. Scutaro ss
  5. Here's a "hunch" of my own. Lester is only 25, so we have yet to see him in his prime. He will garner at least one cy young award
  6. Updated stats (includes college games)
  7. I heard on weei that MLB wants the Yankees, Red Sox and Dodgers to hurry up because their games last the longest. Oh well because those 3 team's lineups see a lot of pitches
  8. http://www.cleveland.com/tribe/index.ssf/2010/03/closer_kerry_wood_lost_to_clev.html Now up to 3 closers who wont be with their team for opening day. Joe Nathan (Twins), Huston Street (Rockies), and now Kerry Wood (Guardians). The Twins are said to be scouting Heath Bell
  9. Dont you see, you cant call someone an ace if they dont throw complete game after complete game?
  10. I just dont see how Embree at this stage will be better than Shouse. Now Im not saying Shouse will be a key cog or anything but he still has more left in his arm. Embree's season was cut short in July because of a fractured leg... but that was a god send for Colorado. In the NL, he was compiling a 5.84 ERA through 36 games. His last full season (2008, Oakland), ERA was at 4.96
  11. Cmon now the Yankees rotation will be healthy for the whole season and the 1-4 starters will pitch at least a combined 800 innings!!
  12. Id rather have him get his feet wet in Triple A. The biggest jump in the minors is Double A to Triple A. There is no need to rush him. Besides he has never appeared in relief. He has always been a starter. Like Iglesias, he will be a September call up
  13. Guys remember this... When Theo took over the organization, the top ranked prospect was Abe Alvarez. The farm has come a long way
  14. No problem. And when you see spring training stats on redsox.com, it doesnt include the college games. Its still spring training regardless IMO Nice to see that Ortiz's avg is all sudden at .281. He's hit 2 HRs in the past week
  15. Gil Velazquez is out for 6 weeks, broken thumb Updated stats (includes college games)
  16. Oh my god you are such a fairweather Sox fan or Yankees/Rays fan in disguise Now Ellsbury and V-Mart are on your s*** list? No s*** that V-Mart cant hold Manny's jock strap... lets see is V-Mart replacing Manny or is he replacing the .200 hitting Varitek? Youkilis will be at 30/115+ and V-Mart will be at 20-25/100+
  17. He also had a big homerun against K-Rod in the 08 ALDS http://ballhype.com/story/drew_homers_off_k_rod_bosox_top_angels_ap/
  18. The next 4 hitters after Scutaro are Ellsbury, Pedroia, Youkilis and V-Mart...
  19. You have an issue, here's a tissue
