  1. la la 7-4 5 game lead by the end of the game? Oh yea its nearing the panic button for this lead in the AL East
  2. Fielding drills for the infield after the game. Still just 1 out
  3. No breaks Youk has to handle a tough hop, no DP. Izturis up with 2 men in scoring position with 1 out
  4. Wakefield is running on fumes, Tito will wait until the game is out of hand to pull him EDIT: Huh, course of habit, this is something new. He's pulling his starting pitcher at the right time. Cmon MDC, hopefully get out with just a 1 run deficit and claw out again
  5. I want my belli' back! Damn that was a no doubter off the bat
  6. Holding out hope, but argh even though its still the 4th inning, im just not getting a good vibe
  7. Happy Birthday "BoSox" Drew with the night off, Wily Mo in right Wakefield this season vs Anaheim in 2 games, 1-1 with a 6.55 ERA. On the road in 11 games, 5-6 with a 4.36 ERA Saunders this season at home in 6 games, 3-0 with a 4.22 ERA
  8. Surprising he was able to clear waivers. Some low level team have some use for him and more patience than Boston could. I wish him the best where ever he goes, it was just a blunder of a trade on Theo's part
  9. redsox.bostonherald.com Kielty, starting later on today for Pawtucket, has an out clause if he isnt promoted within a week Anyways its obvious that the Sox have soured on Wily Mo. Why has Hinske been getting more starts in the outfield? Why last night when Manny was ejected, did they send the kid in to take over in left and bat clean up?
  10. Why should the Sox hold onto Pena? I was a big supporter of his but he wont have consistent success unless he has plenty of playing time... and thats not happening in Boston.
  11. Kielty is a solid hitter as they come against lefties, Sox gain a nice right handed batter off the bench with some glove. Wily Mo is likely to be DFA'd within the next week
  12. Schilling this season vs Anaheim in 2 games, 1-1 with a 2.57 ERA. On the road in 8 games, 4-4 with a 4.50 ERA Weaver this season at home in 9 games, 3-2 with a 4.05 ERA
  13. To use the previous 9 lucky series as a precursor to facing Cleveland, Baltimore, Detroit, Anaheim, Detroit, Boston I just dont get. Even if those teams are scuffling right now (still the elite), cant just say that the trend might continue
  14. My apologies, so according to you and Gom, the yankees will take every series for the rest of the season. Under scenario of taking the best of, not sweeps, that would put them in line to go 35-16 the rest of the way, 96-66 finish. Sox should start looking at the wild card standings now
  15. Schilling will be activated off of the DL tomorrow. With Javier Lopez being their lefty specialist, I dont see him being moved down (even tho he has options). I see them either placing Timlin back on the DL, or placing Snyder on waivers EDIT: http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/2007/08/sox_option_lope.html Wow the Sox have sent Lopez down to make room for Schilling. I hope that he's back up by the time the Yankees series comes around
  16. 11 baserunners (5 Hits, 5 Walks, reach on error), 3 runs. A recent study has revealed that Batista is in fact the reincarnated version of Houdini I really hope that whomever was in the mascot suit should be fired for his actions today. He just scampered off without even offering any sense of apology. That couldve been a season ending injury to Crisp or well who knows how serious
  17. 8 baserunners in 3 innings = 2 runs, what a joke They mustve just taken notes from the 1st game of this series
  18. Pedroia out for today's game, Crisp leading off. Im not sure why Drew is back in the 5th spot, Lowell has been running circles around Drew's poor season. Beckett this season vs Seattle in 2 games, 2-0 with a 1.36 ERA. On the road in 8 games, 7-1 with a 1.59 ERA Batista this season at home in 12 games, 6-5 with a 3.97 ERA
  19. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/2007/08/brandon_moss_to.html Gordon Edes updated his blog at 4 am. Moss has been struggling as of late and has been taking grounders at 1st base. Might this be an indication that Wily Mo will be placed on waivers?... EDIT: Whomever Roto read the article wrong by Gordon Edes. He said Kielty would be an alternative to Wily Mo in terms of playing in center field. The article does state that the Sox would cut ties with Pena if Kielty is acquired. EDIT:
  20. Boston is the only team that has three 13 win pitchers Last night I had just a major migraine that I eventually had to go bed around the 4th inning when they were still trailing 1-0. One hell of a game to watch, tho did get jittery when saw the play by play in Gagne's inning. As roto said the playoif the game might have actually been Manny hustling all the way from first on Varitek's 2 run double. Ok so we keep the Yanks at bay while they are nearing the end of an exetended lucky schedule 67-43, back to 24 games above .500, hold on to 7 game lead Beckett vs Batista... this should be in our favor, but IT IS f***ing Seattle
  21. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/boxscore?gid=270804120 Joel Pineiro got rocked around in his Cardinals debut, giving up 5 runs in 5 innings against the Washington Nationals Also this just in from Gordon Edes, talks are ongoing with the A's Bobby Kielty. From what I could understand, Sox might just place Wily Mo on waivers and get what they can from a team through the waiver line. Pedroia/Youk combo again at the top of the order, Mike Lowell batting 5th, this time with all starters in the same lineup for the first time in awhile... wouldn't mind seeing that for the rest of the season Matsuzaka this season on the road in 13 games, 7-5 with a 3.14 ERA Washburn this season at home in 14 games, 4-6 with a 4.76 ERA
  22. The Yankees schedule since July 1st has been a joke. From July 1st to August 8 they will have played 33 of 36 games against teams with records of just about .500 or worse. the only team worth mentioning that they played against was the Angels before the All-Star Break Sox just have to somehow hold their own until then, because starting August 10 the once happy go lucky yanks schedule will do a complete 180. From August 10 to the end of the month... Cleveland, Baltimore, Detroit (4 game series), Anaheim, Detriot (4 game series), Boston
