  1. Whooo!!! .200 hitter Thigpen with the 2 RBI single, 3-1 Jays in the 4th inning Hughes was worked in the 4th inning, throwing 35 pitches in the process. He is already at 80 pitches, the bullpen phone will be ringing soon enough
  2. Good article by Ken Rosenthal EDIT: Au update in his daily dish on Fox is that if the Sox need a 4th starter during the playoffs, it will be Buchholz not Wakefield
  3. Yankees offense is worked for 14 innings plus the bullpen was used up for 7 innings, me likey. Lead back up to 2.5 games, magic number at 7
  4. Yesterday the Blue Jays announced he would have season ending surgery. While he did have a down year, surely wouldve made something happen tonight
  5. This cements it for Josh Id like to find out when was the last time (if any) that the Sox have had a Cy Young Award winner and ROY in the same season
  6. First career triple for the kid. I heard somewhere that this ST we'll be seeing comptition for the backup 1st base job, newly acquired Chris Carter and Brandon Moss. The Sox will be sending Moss to the Fall League to get some work in at 1st base 3 outs away from Beckett getting his 20th W of the season
  7. Blue Jays starting to bend over for the yankees with no lube
  8. Beckett this season vs Tampa Bay in 2 games, 2-0 with a 3.00 ERA. On the road in 13 games, 11-2 with a 2.20 ERA Kazmir this season vs Boston in 6 games, 1-3 with a 2.81 ERA. At home in 18 games, 4-5 with a 3.58 ERA
  9. Now thats a break for the Yankees
  10. If he was, his contract wouldve been extended. Managers in his state (signed through only next season) are speculated to be on the hot seat
  11. On 3-2 pitch, its time to break out the splitter. Adams was looking for fastball, he was ready for it, middle of the plate, game over
  12. Varitek and his f***ing fastball fastball fastball All pitches he called for were his favorite pitch. Adams is looking for fastball, why not the old Mr. Splitty? Friday yes the Sox do have Josh Beckett but at the same time, the struggling offense will be seeing old buddy Kazmir
  13. 6-1.... Hello 1.5 game lead Paps has hit rock bottom his last 2 outings
  14. The Guardians would clinch homefield and play against the Yankees. 2004 rematch of the Angels and Red Sox
  15. 1 inning left to go from being just 1.5 games ahead, I just dont get this team. They have the talent but the heart at times is not willing to show it on the field
  16. Burnett was 1 out away to a complete game until he was pulled for Scott Downs to get the 1 out save. Up until this inning the Sox bats got Litsch's pitch count to 72 pitches in 6 innings, swinging early & often (been the case since Sunday). That was an average of just 12 pitches per inning. As I speak, theyve regained their ability to actually take pitches and make a pitcher work for his money. Lets see if they can come through with the big hit EDIT: Just sad. Lugo lolly gagged like it was a pop up. He wouldve been safe at 1st had he been running out of the gate, more importantly it wouldve at least tied the game
  17. This offense is on life support. When was the last time an opposing team has had 3 complete games in a series against the Red Sox? Let alone this game is against Jesse f***ing Litsch
  18. http://www.engl.niu.edu/jstewart/phptest/donkey.jpg
  19. So when do you see his last season as a Red Sox? 2008? Sox activating his $20 million per option years?
  20. Okajima has been shut down for a few more days. Tito is sticking to his guns that Gagne will be the 8th inning set up guy, regardless he has yet to get one hold when given a lead. Coco is out today with a recurring stiff back Buchholz this season on the road in 1 game, 1-0 with an 0.00 ERA
  21. Yeaaaa a setback, its called bailing out. Here's to a new left fielder in 2008 Im done with the "Manny being Manny" s***. Arod is making more money than him, at least he shows up every game whether he's hurt or not. IMO once Manny goes, Tito goes with him. One of the main reasons behind the hiring of Francona is that he is a well known players manager, henc that is what was needed with Manny antics aplenty. The Sox need a Jim Leyland type, taking no s*** from anybody
  22. Ship Manny out or just planly buy out his contract for the 2008 season. Last year i let it slide that he ditched on the Sox for the last 6 weeks, because that team was going nowhere even with him in the lineup. Now to not step in with your team in a tightening pennant race is just wrong. Thats when the true gamers come out. "Yea Im hurt but Im in it to help my team win games down the strech." Free agent left fielders to be will be Adam Dunn (if Reds dont activate 08 option) and Kosuke Fukodome
