  1. In my opinion, Wilt Chamberlain was better than Jordan.
  2. Don't know about the rest of you, but I like this guy already.
  3. Please. Shaq also has an MVP caliber player with him in Miami in Dwyane Wade, a future hall of famer in Gary Payton (coming off the bench, even... I think), and a ton of talent around him in Antoine Walker, James Posey, and Jason Williams. Add to that Alonzo Mourning coming off of the bench. Kobe has... who? Lamar Odom? I'd pass on him. That team would be the worst in the NBA if not for Kobe. As it stands, he's got them in the #7 spot in the West.
  4. He's just jealous. Not just because he didn't do it, but because he's not even capable of doing it.
  5. Eh, I don't like the deal from the Pacers standpoint. but they had to move Artest. I think they could've gotten more, though. I'm not a big Peja fan.
  6. In the NBA today, i really am shocked that they combined for 300. Though, if i had to pick two teams to do it... Suns are one of em for sure
  7. 'Melo was 13 for 16 against the same Raptors that Kobe torched. If he took as many shots as Kobe had taken, he'd have scored, like, 111 points. Just saying.
  8. MJ won 6 by himself? You mean, Scottie Pippen, who was recognized as one of the NBA's 50 Greatest Players of All-Time, had nothing to do with them? And if he only won 3 because of Shaq, why hasn't Shaq won any rings without the aid of Kobe?
  9. Good stats, YS. Nice research!
  10. Him with the ball in his hands gives his team the best chance to win. All this 'ball hog' talk has happened over the past two years, when all he did last year was set a career high in assists, and this year, he's been right on his average.
  11. All things considered... best single game performance in NBA History. Yes, better than Wilt's, considering how difficult it is for a Guard to do it. Just think, if he didn't sit the entire fourth quarter against Dallas about a month back, he could've made a run at two 80 point games in the same season.
  12. Nope. The Red Sox wanted him for what they feel he's was worth. They're not going to overpay for a guy because he wants to retire with them, but isn't willing to accept less money to do so -- it is, after all, a business. Would you blow $12 mill. in what you didn't feel was the best interest for the team?
  13. I would imagine it's 'booyeah' because 'boo' is an actual word, pronounced just as it is in 'booyeah'. Besides, if it had a real dictionary listing, the 'boo--' version would have already been adopted as an alternate form due to popular use, I'd imagine.
  14. True, but until somebody else puts up NEAR 81 against the Raptors... I won't discount Kobe's accomplishment in the slightest bit.
  15. Who's he's supposed to pass to, exactly? He's the only one on the team worth anything.
  16. Sweet. So when I win, instead of 'All-Star', I can make it say 'God' or 'Lord Savior'?
  17. Count me in.
  18. NFL Point Spread for Super Bowl XL Super Bowl 40 Game Date - 2/5, 2006 Well, I'm out, so the spread pick is just for fun. Date & Time..........Favorite..............Spread........ .....Underdog 2/5 6:30 ET............. Pittsburgh............. -3.5..................Seattle Total Points Scored in the Super Bowl :....................55 Pts.
  19. Holy s***!!!! 81?! Amazing. I say he goes for Wilt's record! Kobe puts up 81, the Suns and Sonics put up almost 300 combined points, and the Nuggets beat the Spurs. What the hell was wrong in the NBA today?
  20. Well, I'm done for. Best of luck to those still alive.
  21. Eh, Jake Plummer deserves every bit of criticism he'll be getting this off-season. Can't say I'm too happy with Shanahan either, this team showed absolutely no sense of urgency. Plummer reverted back into his old self, can't say I blame him too much, with the defense playing god-awful and the running game ineffective, and trailing by a good margin, he tried to make plays to win the game because nobody else seemed to, and that's when he's at his worst. This team needs another WR. They were interested in Owens, last I heard when he first got suspended. I hope that's still the case. As for the defensive side of the ball -- when you get burned by Cedric Wilson, it's a problem. Domonique Foxworth was absolutely dreadful -- why give them a 9 yard cushion every time when every time they need a play, they use that cushion you give 'em to run hook for the first down? Ugh. 2 dropped interceptions, the first one by Champ, the second by Lynch late (would've been a touch catch for any safety, but it was makable). When they start 3 of their first 6 possessions on your side of the 50, you're not going to win. And get off the 'The Patriots lost blah blah' thing. With the exception of those vanity points when the game was in little doubt, you were outscored by Champ Bailey's INT and the TD run that followed it. And yes, the pressure on Brady forced the interception.
  22. With Georgetown beating Duke today, and Tennessee having just beaten Florida, UConn should be #1 in the Nation come Monday if they beat Louisville!! In addition to that, the Pittsburgh loss to St. Johns means there's no longer any undefeated teams.
  23. Broncos/Panthers As good as the Steelers played against the Colts... it was a Peyton Manning led team. He can't seem to read a defense for his life in the playoffs (Broncos excluded, but this defense seems a lot different this year). Plus, you guys are really picking Bill Cowher in a big game? Please. That's Marty Schottenheimer Jr. right there.
  24. Best news I've heard in a while!
  25. I agree completely. Tough to suspend a guy when he acted in the same manner as any other player would have. What Antonio Davis did was absolutely the right thing -- he didn't act, at all, in a violent manner. It would be different if he had a history, but he's a classy guy. Hate to see him suspended five games for this one.
