  1. `In the 911 call she basically just said he took too many pills, and the guy responded that an ambulance would be their soon. She never once suggested suicide. You can hear it on espn.com
  2. Their magic number to clinch was at 5 for a week. In that time they lost 7 games off of their lead, I believe.
  3. Dallas Police have closed the investigation and have deemed it an "Accidental Overdose", and not an attempt at suicide.
  4. This is the guy who can't look at his coach wrong without being the top story on Sportscenter. He doesn't need to fake suicide to get the attention.
  5. I believe him. He needs to fire his publicist because she had, pretty much, the opposite effect -- and I would think that that's not exactly what you're looking for when you go out and get a publicist. I agree with Youk, though. Nothing like this should ever be taken lightly and played off as an attempt to get attention. I'm not so sure he did attempt suicide, though. Cry for help? Could be if this is indeed the case. But the guy looks at his coach wrong and he's the top story on Sportscenter -- he doesn't need to attempt suicide to keep himself in the public eye.
  6. Christ... are people going to criticize him over this, too? Maybe, instead of some elaborate ploy to get the media and fans on his side... the guy really has a problem and is screaming out for help. :dunno:
  7. I'm a Saint, tonight. That said, 14-3 Saints.
  8. Blocked punt for a New Orleans Touchdown! That is absolutely amazing!
  9. Well, Ray Lewis played in 15 games the year he was on it and had yet another great year. I saw a graphic about it on ESPN. It listed all the players and what happened to them that year... for Ray Lewis it said "missed pro bowl". Sounds like a stretch, to me.
  10. Madden cover jinx? Shaun Alexander is out indefinetely with a broken foot. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2602571
  11. Gradkowski played at Toledo. You're thinking of Dan Orlovsky.
  12. That's too bad. I really like Chris Simms. Who do the Bucs go to? Gradkowski or Rattay?
  13. Huge Notre Dame fan here... Definetely overhyped. That said, I got to watch the fourth quarter while I should have been working... amazing game. I was on #20's (still don't care to know his name) ass hard last week for looking lost against Michigan -- but he had the game winning INT TD and the impressive INT that sealed the deal.
  14. Nah, that was a few years later. The QB's were something Hagen and the backup was Charles Johnson. The fifth down and National Championship were in 1990, I think Kordell Stewart came along the next year. The Hail Mary against Michigan happened in '94 or '95. And that Virginia offense is terrible. They're lucky they kept it within 17.
  15. These are leaked from the 2007 MLB Styleguide, so they're certainly official. I like the update of the D Snake logo and as soon as one of those hats (Black snake on red hat) goes on sale, I'll buy it.
  16. Not sure how much anybody cares about I generally take an interest in these sort of things since before deciding on journalism, I was going to try and get into sports identity design and such. That said, the new D-Backs identity has been leaked along with some slight changes from the Reds. Gone is the Diamondbacks purple, teal, and copper color scheme and they added a slick new logo as well as updated the D Snake logo. The Reds changes are just a new wordmark and number font. Arizona Diamondbacks http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b394/vinsanity59/AD2007.jpg Cincinatti Reds http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b394/vinsanity59/CR2007.jpg
  17. It was Colorado. Colorado went on to win the game on that play, I think the final play of the game and yeah, they went on to win the National Championship. The CU coach, Bill McCartney, went on to 'excuse' the play suggesting that Missouri's field was too slick or something like that.
  18. Whatever. They're widely regarded as the greatest team ever. If you choose to disagree then that's your choice. The 1989 49ers team is generally thought to be the best of the 49ers dynasty, anyway.
  19. Yeah, I don't buy the argument that Oklahoma still could've won and that junk. They got screwed, plain and simple. They were put in a position they shouldn't have been and 3 missed calls screwed them over. First being the fact that Oregon touched the ball before ten yards, second being that Oregon didn't even recover, and third being the pass interference call. OU has taken a strong stand here, and I'm all for them keeping with it. Screw the Pac-10!
  20. Oklahoma is considering cancelling their game at Washington in 2008 if the Pac 10 doesn't change their rule about Pac 10 refs officiating non-conference homes games. Where does everybody stand on the issue?
  21. It's just how the school has officially always referred to itself. It's not a name that was taken on by some players and it just kind of stuck -- it's just always been that way. This is the universities official logo (i think it's the official logo, anyways, it's a school logo, regardless)... http://www.osu.edu/images/osu_logo.png I think it's awesome like that. However, I hate how if you watch players introduce themselves on Sunday Night Football or whatever, all sorts of players are using the "THE" when they say their school.
  22. Out of curiosity, was he on the hot seat entering this season? because Miami hasn't been as Miami-like
